Antler

June 29, 2010 To the person who took the free antler sitting outside my driveway,

You lucky duck! I almost grabbed it first. Let that be a lesson to me: When you see a free antler on the ground, take it because it won’t wait for you.

My, what a treasure we found! I’m curious to know which one of my neighbors had been hoarding the single antler this whole time.

But alas, I am not brave enough to go knocking door-to-door to find out. Has the antler made you any braver, dear stranger? I do hope the antler’s twin isn’t getting lonely hanging on a wall somewhere. It makes me wonder why on earth someone would want to get rid of only one antler.

So what are you going to do with our Cervidaerrific find? I think I would have painted it neon green or electric blue and turned it into a centerpiece for my living room. That or use it as a fancy backscratcher.

Well, if you ever decide you no longer have use for that antler just leave it where we found it. I’ll give it a good home!
