Kellenberg Memorial provides an education that nurtures both the Heart and the Mind, emphasizing a strong Catholic identity. The school encourages students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and promotes a daily prayer life. Spiritual growth is fostered through retreats, mission trips, service opportunities, personal reflection, monthly Mass, school-wide prayer services, divisional retreats, and Advent and Lenten Missions. The focus on faith development, alongside a variety of extracurricular activities, centered around community service and personal sacrifice, helps students integrate their faith into daily life. This spiritual dimension of education supports students in becoming mature, Christian men and women in an environment that values Civility, Order, and Respect.
Kellenberg prides itself in its mission and identity as a Catholic school in the Marianist tradition which prepares students not only for college but also for a life of Christian discipleship in today’s world. The characteristics of a Marianist Education include:
Educating for Formation in Faith: Faith is at the heart of the Kellenberg Family. Our students and faculty strive together to grow in knowledge and love of their faith through academic classes and extracurricular, athletic, and apostolic activities.
Educating in Family Spirit: We are a Firebird Family! Everyone has a place at Kellenberg. Civility, order, and respect are our guiding principles as we build a school community where the dignity of every human person is cherished and respected.
Providing an Integral, Quality Education: Kellenberg students and faculty create a dynamic learning environment devoted to the pursuit of knowledge and the truth. We seek to educate the whole-person. Whether in the classroom, on stage, in the chapel, or on the field, each Kellenberg student grows in mind, heart, and body. We hope to prepare our students for a lifetime of learning.
Educating for Service, Justice, Peace, and the Integrity of Creation: Blessed Chaminade, the founder of the Marianists said, “We are all missionaries!” We carry out this mission not only in the classroom, but also in activities such as visiting the elderly, bringing Communion to the homebound, and collecting food for our local community. Each of us is called to witness the Good News of Jesus Christ, and our faith inspires us to service.
Educating for Adaptation and Change: Guided by more than 200 years of tradition, Marianist students and educators foster a learning community that rises to the challenges of new times through the creative use of new technologies alongside time-tested curricula.

The services of the Guidance Department are integral to the educational program at Kellenberg Memorial. Guidance Counselors, who are a blend of teachers and full time Guidance Counselors, assist and support students as they transition to the school environment, create personal and academic goals, engage in healthy decision making, and prepare for the demands of middle school and secondary education. Additionally, we have full-time Social Workers and a School Psychologist who supervise crisis interventions and provide support and direction for students with mental health or social-emotional issues.
STEM activities are continuously made available to Latin School students. Renovation of the Science labs has increased the opportunity for hands-on activities that enrich the curricula of the Science classes. The Latin School has a competitive Science Olympiad team, and students enjoy other activities such as Stemgineering, Lab Squad, and Robotics. The Tyro STEM Day allows students to explore Science topics outside of the regular classroom setting, and students also have the opportunity to attend programs and films at the Cradle of Aviation Museum as well as other venues.

Students begin the study of Latin in the seventh grade. This discipline allows them to be exposed to the culture and linguistic foundation that the study of this language provides.
Nurturing creativity is a key element of the learning experience at Kellenberg. We offer three different co-curricular music ensembles (Band, Chorus, and Orchestra), each comprised of two skill-based levels. The Latin School offers a Jazz Band, LS Voces (Jazz Chorus), Guitar Club, and Jubilee Choir.
Students who love going to Kellenberg love having an active student life! Kellenberg offers more than 80 clubs and activities. A wide variety of leadership, special interest, and service clubs and organizations means there is a place for everyone. Co-curricular academic and extra-curricular opportunities let students use what they learn in class. Social events, guest speaker programs, and service projects provide opportunities to create lasting memories.
The Marianist Philosophy as it pertains to Athletics is “Educate the whole student - Heart, Mind, and the Body.” Seventh and eighth grade students may participate in an extensive athletic program. On the high school level, Kellenberg Memorial sponsors 65 official interscholastic athletic teams, participating in arguably the most competitive athletic leagues in the country. More than 60% of all high school students participate in at least one sport.

In establishing the Bro. Joseph C. Fox Latin School, the Marianists wished to honor the memory of Bro. Joseph C. Fox, and more importantly, to extend the work of the Marianist education to which he devoted his life. The vibrance of his faith and the love of his Marianist vocation left a rich legacy. In addition to his many years of service to the Marianist Community as a teacher, Bro. Joseph taught his fellow Marianists how to grow old gracefully, to make every day count, and to serve rather than be served. Simple love of God, humor, sense of duty, generosity, and single-mindedness are all fruits that flourished on his tree of life. His example was one of faithful imitation of Jesus Christ, Son of God, he became a Son of Mary for the salvation of all. With the help of God and His Blessed Mother, the students of the Latin School will be a living memorial to Bro. Joseph’s life of faith, devotion, and learning.
