bridging the gap
two figure grounds were generated from photographs taken around the ksu campus. the figure grounds were set at a fixed distance apart, and the in-between space was interpreted into a final composition and model.

a personal retreat the project’s focus was to create a piece of “inhabitable sculpture” which could be used as a private getaway. Situated atop a cliff, the abstract dwelling aims to accomodate basic programmatic needs such as eating, sleeping and dining while providing breathtaking views from every angle.

a sense of arrival the focus of this project was to consider both how people move throughout a space and also what they see along their path of travel. the final model was to be sculptural in nature and have several points of interest where people could arrive and recieve a unique experience.

from the ground up the aim of the project was to analyze how people navigate different spaces within a building. after initial research, i built a model that featured a clear circulation path, which would take people from ground level up to the sky.

ocean park no. 27 this project focused on the influence a site can have on architecture. using a work from richard diebenkorn’s “ocean park” series, i interpreted elements of a site based on the colors and forms of his composition. after an initial site model, i developed structures which conformed to the site while providing a specific set of programmatic needs. these included an art gallery, gathering space, and a private retreat.

a clean slate working off a completely blank oorplan made it imperative to depend heavily on space planning skills. inspired by the movement of the ocean, the design of this high-end seafod restaurant aims to be sleek and streamlined through a simple layout and elegant finishes.

saving st. clair superior working alongside the cleveland urban design collaborative, i had the task to redevelope a run down house in the st. clair superior area of cleveland. the goal of the project was to spark a rehabilitation of the entire area. the scope included re-designing the main oor and creating a second oor loft space. in addition, i created a second bedroom so the house could support a small family.

a step back in time the goal of this project was to develop a space which would be utilized by automotive collectors as a showcase for their collection. the space is intended to be used only for an event space and not as as residence. my design is aimed toward an older generation of collectors and incorperates many themes and motifs of the atomic age in the 1950’s.

satisfaction guaranteed with an architecture inspired by the googie movement of the 1950’s, the design provides a unique buying experience which keeps the customer coming back time and time again. an open service area at the entry allows customers to easily see all their purchasing options. lounge and work areas provide space for customers to relax and be productive while waiting when the store is busy.

connection at the core with the goal of developing an office space that encourages collaboration, I focused my efforts on connecting people and creating interactions within the office environment. my design seeks to promote collaboration among workers by providing a close adjacency of support spaces to large open office areas.
