Letter to the Homebuyers

2923 Somerset Drive Charlotte, NC 28209 Dear Potential Homebuyer, I am writing this letter to express how much we have loved living here and how much we will miss the charm associated with living on Somerset Drive. As the mother of three small children, my main goal in life is to provide the very best for my children, and Somerset is one of those special places. It may surprise you to find out that there are over 40 children living on Somerset Drive, 30 of which are preschool and elementary school aged. You see, this street reminds me of a storybook setting where kids play together, crossing over to each other’s houses to play while parents sit on their front porches, work in their yards, or converse with one another at the end of someone’s driveway.

Our Neighbors and Events………

The neighbors on Somerset Drive are a wonderful mix of mostly young families with several remaining elderly residents whom have witnessed our street transform over the years with rejuvenated youthfulness and activity. Each year, there is a Fall Pot Luck Dinner in which we block off the street and throw a block party consisting of food, beverages, a bouncy house for the kids, bike riding, etc. There is also an Annual Progressive Dinner (adults only) and a Halloween Pizza Party to kick off trick-or-treating. Many parents on Somerset actively participate in the PTA at Dilworth Elementary, holding former and current positions such as president, secretary, treasurer, and either running or members of numerous committees.

Things to do within walking distance………

Within a short walking distance to Somerset, there is Freedom Park and Whittington Field, a fabulous baseball field for youth. Both of these public venues are teaming with organized sports, such as baseball, soccer, lacrosse, tennis, and more. A greenway provides trails for walking and bike riding. Freedom Park also boasts a nature museum, an outdoor amphitheater and two playgrounds. Freedom Park is arguably the best outdoor recreation Charlotte has to offer. In addition, there is Avondale Church (located at the corner of Somerset and Lilac) which has a basketball league. As you can imagine, it will be difficult for us to move away from this wonderful neighborhood. Somerset will always feel like home to us… we will surely miss it. I hope that I was able to shine some light on what you can look forward to should you decide to purchase our home. I’m sure your new neighbors will provide you with the same warm welcome they so graciously provided us when we moved in.

Sincerely, Michele Bailey
