WELCOME I'm Kellie and I'm so glad you're here. First, thanks for making it to this point. That means you've probably looked through my website or social media, waded through my attempts at humor, and STILL chose to reach out for more information. Solid! You're going to find a ton of information in this booklet. Sure, there's the important stuff like, ya know, how much this is going to cost. But also, advice and things I've learned in my 12 years of wedding photography. So read through. Even if you choose to go a different direction, I hope something in here is somewhat valuable for you. Or, if it all is, you should probably book me, right? HA! As you can probably tell, my approach to life as a whole is comfortable, casual and easy going. My photography really is no different. While I do show up with poses in mind, I'm also totally willing to let you guys fall out of those poses and be your weird selves too. I'm a go with the flow kind of gal! While I started my business on the North Shore, I followed my heart to the Twin Cities where I now live with my fiancé, Will, and our dog Maisie (who I'm slightly obsessed with, let me know if you want to see a picture). That being said, any chance I get to go back North, I take! I hope that this booklet can answer a ton of your questions, but if it doesn't or you want to know more about me - ask away! I'm an open book and I hope to chat more soon!

- Kellie

You're Engaged!

I know you're feeliing the pressure to start planning your big day, buy remember to enjoy this time in your lives, too. Engagement sessions are the perfect way to document who you are in this moment and get you working with your photographer before the wedding. TOTAL win-win!

ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS time to show that love off, my friend

Engagement sessions can be fun, laid back, and easy ways to get comfortable with having a camera in your face. There are no rules about engagement photos. You don't need them for save the dates or invitations (though you for sure can use them for that). You can do them a year before your wedding or the week before. Got a dog? Bring the dog. Always bring the dog. Maybe not even for the photos, I just want to pet the dog. Pinterest is the best for clothing inspiration for engagement photos. I could offer help, but I'm guessing my standard wardrobe of t-shirt and jeans may not be what you're looking for. All of my wedding clients are gifted a FREE engagement session with their wedding collection.

The Experience

You should expect my style of photography to capture your day how it was. I want you to give photos to your family and friends and have them feel like they were there if they weren't. In 50 years, I want you looking back at these photos and thinking "HOT DANG WE LOOK GOOD!!!"

ALEC + AMY

HEARTWOOD EVENT CENTER // TREGO, WI

"Exactly what we hoped for." Kellie is amazing to work with! She took into account what we wanted for our wedding pictures and went the extra mile to make sure we got it. They turned out beautiful! Plus, her personality is awesome and she had us laughing through all of our photos. We would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Nathan + Brenda PRIVATE RESIDENCE // ELY, MN

"Kellie captured our true happiness and love." My husband and I were married at a family property in Northern Minnesota's Boundary Waters. Because of location, it was a remote destination wedding for all of us and we were planning from out of state. We only invited our nearest and dearest which meant a tiny guestlist of 16 people were in attendance. I was nervous that a photographer would be too much of a stranger or impeded on the intimacy shared that day. All of those fears went away after my first conversation with Kellie. She heard our request for capturing candids and natural portraits, she was on board with our colorful theme (including my dress!) and actually validated my unique take on what wedding celebrations can be.

On the day of, Kellie and her second shooter arrived like old friends there to celebrate with us too. Her warmth, excitement for our details, and honesty about the weather will always be a part of my happy wedding day memories. She put any worries to rest and gave us a "we're in this together" attitude when it started to pour shortly before the ceremony. Her ability to quickly recognize a break in the storm gave us awesome rainbow photographs and ones I cherish as a sign of loved ones who were very much present for the day.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE the

here's what it means to hire me as your photographer.

feel like you have a new friend without needing to text all the time.

12+ years of experience

someone to help move things along on the wedding day personal cheerleader - no really, I will probably say a lot of nice things (and mean them!) and make you feel real good

THE PROCESS before the wedding Once you book me, feel free to shoot me questions as needed. About 2 months before the wedding, I'll send over some homework that will help out figure the photo timeline, get lists of family photos, and make sure I'm not missing any other details that are important to you.

on the day itself I'm going to be there to help you keep to the timeline, try to steal you away when I can tell you need a minute away from guests, give you space when you need a minute away from the camera, and all around try to keep things as calm and relaxed as possible.

after the party You'll get a gallery of images pretty quickly after the wedding, and then I'll keep you waiting a bit while I edit the rest. Then one day, you'll see an email that says they're ready, you'll grab your significant other, a box of kleenex and start the happy tears..

The Planning

If you're not a little overwhelmed by all of this wedding business, I'll be seriously impressed! I've seen a LOT of weddings and I'll try to share as many tips and tricks that I've picked up along the way to make things a little easier for you!

There are, like, a lot of vendors out there

I don't think you can really go wrong with most vendors, but if you book me and then ALSO book these two below, I can pretty much promise you'll have a real fun time. And you get to laugh at us being idiots together. And if you don't book me, you should still look into them because they're awesome and worth every penny.

FIRST LOOKS

I'm not here to sway you, but maybe a little.

Seeing each other before the ceremony can be something people feel really strongly about. Over the past 12 years, I've seen weddings with first looks and with ceremonies being the first time couples see each other. When you're thinking about which is right for you, be sure to think about the following as well: Will there be enough time after your ceremony to get the good light outside for family photos, wedding party, and photos of you and your significant other without feeling crazy rushed? Do you or your significant other cry like crazy or want to pass out when faced with a ton of emotion in front of large groups? Think of debate class in high school. Did you freak out? Did they? And then remember how many people will be attending your wedding that you absolutely do not want to picture in their underwear, I'm just saying. Will you have other time in your day to have a moment alone with each other? Think of Jim and Pam in the Office taking mental photographs of each other. Is there enough space at your venue to easily keep you two separated before the ceremony? If you want to see each other when walking down the aisle, that's TOTALLY GREAT, but first looks are also awesome and either option will be perfect for you guys.

DON'T FORGET THE details

The Investment It goes without saying that your wedding is one of the biggest days of your life. The photos? They matter.

One year after your wedding, let's get together with a little bottle of champagne and you guys can think about just how far you've come all while I take a bunch of super cute photos. I mean, you won't outdo last years christmas card with your wedding photos but this can be a close second.

WHAT THE FAQ?! are you a full time photographer? Because Duluth is awesome. But also because I photographed there for almost 10 years and it turns out moving your business is a lot harder than it looks. Or maybe I secretly just like having a reason to go back and see Lady Superior. It's actually probably more so that than anything else!

do you shoot film? I'm a Nikon gal, so I have couple of d850s, d750s, a d700, a d800, a z5 and like a whole bunch of lenses. And I pretty much bring all of those with me so that I never run into an issue of not having a camera that works. ALWAYS BE PREPARED, right?

what if it rains?

I don't require my couples to pick exactly which collection will work for them when they book me. Reserve the date and figure out how much time you might need later on. It's so much easier to see how your day is shaping up when you're a bit closer to the actual wedding! .

I'm not. I started taking photos in 2009. I went full time in 2012, but in 2019 I thought maybe I'd like to switch careers. I now work for the federal government during the day, but keep my weekends and evenings open for photography. Best of both worlds, right?

you live in the cities but why do I see so many duluth photos? If time and light allow for it, yes! I have a contax 645 that I bring with me all the time and if I see the opportunity, I'll use it! It's SO BEAUTIFUL!

what other gear do you have? Embrace it! Let's go run outside! Or don't! One time I took the entirety of a wedding parties photos in a parking garage/skyway and you really don't even notice. But I do suggest looking into those clear bubble umbrellas as a just in case plan.

how do we know which collection is right for us?
