01 juxtaposition Working in collaboration with PAR-Projects, a not-for-profit arts organization in Cincinnati’s Northside, the studio investigated the nexus between art and architecture by hacking a series of conventional shipping containers to produce interactions and effects not considered in the scope of a shipping container’s original design. We worked with PAR-Projects to assess needs and offer design solutions that addressed and expanded on the program of the institution.



To meet PAR-Projects’ needs for the building, consisting of gallery space, classroom and studio space, and a primary courtyard space, I centered my design around the exposure to the courtyard. Using the existing building on the site as a backdrop, I wrapped shipping containers around the north, west, and south sides to frame the courtyard and split the program into the two different buildings and two different levels. The south building, designed as phase one of the project for budgeting, is home to the classroom spaces, whereas the phase two building on the northwest of the site holds the gallery and studio spaces. The first floor gallery spaces are designed to flow from the entry to the courtyard, with openings to above to go beyond the length and width constraints of a traditional shipping container.

02 ROWing Facility This facility in Newport, KY was designed to house a training facility, boat storage, and a store area. I wanted to split the program into two floors, separating training from the rest. This created the idea of two buildings being held together by a ‘hinge’ which was the stairs connecting the two building. The massing intended to show the structure wrapping out around large glass curtain walls to take advantage of the views to Cincinnati.

03 Athenaeum Given a site in downtown Cincinnati, we were to create an athenaeum building to enhance the daily lives of the population. Coming from my own personal experiences, being able to cook and enjoy doing so is essential to living. From that belief, I chose to create a cooking athenaeum where people of all ages could come together to teach others about cooking or to partake in classes. This would have a positive impact on life skills for the population.

04 Row House This goal of this 4 week project was to create a row house in Covington, KY for a multigenerational family consisting of a married couple with two children and a grandmother. For my design, I wanted to separate public vs private spaces and to give each member of the family their own space. In addition, capturing views and sunlight on a narrow site led me to create vertical east/ west planes as support with both the north/ south ends consisting of glazing.

05 Folly Starting in small groups, we created a 4’x4’x8’ structure that was designed to be occupied in multiple ways for the human body. Our group wanted to create three separate occupiable ‘landings’ to get the most use out of the tallness of the structure and capture views from both ground level and higher up. The wrapping wood planks were used as a horizontal emphasis to create semi-enclosed spaces within an outdoor project.

06 Casa La Roca A case study of the unfinished building Casa La Roca, designed by Office dA. The study consisted of technical drawings, two models, and analytical studies of the building, The site model studies the significance of the site location, dependent on the presence of the rock vicinity. Also significant in this project was the foldable terracotta brick curtain on the exterior to create private or semi-private spaces.

07 Apartment Complex Situated between Calhoun Street and McMillan Street, this apartment and commercial complex lends itself to heavy pedestrian traffic walking to and from the University of Cincinnati. Working with the surrounding buildings and Old St. George Church, this complex creates a space to invite people in and traverse through the site. A large terrace area spills down from the church and wraps around to an open promenade, connecting to side street Scioto. This effectivly splits the site into two sections.

The Calhoun side of the site lends itself to commercial areas to blend with the existing conditons whereas the McMillan side devotes itself to more residential areas and less pedestrian traffic. The residential buildings extend up on the south and west side of the site. Each unit has its own extending glass block to give more views to the residents, typically encompassing the main living spaces of each unit. A break through the residential towers allow for easy access from the promenade down to McMillan next to where the parking entry for residents is located.

While working with K4 Architecture in Summer of 2017, I helped create floorplans, ceiling plans, interior elevations, and detailsINTERIOR for ELEVATION Citizen’s National Bank in Toledo. The project consisted of new private offices for loan officers, a waiting center with space for a tech counter and upgrading the existing tube system for new use. I also participated in the bidding process for contractors after the initial bid package was completed. Drawings were created in AutoCAD. TECH BAR 118

While working with K4 Architecture in Summer of 2017, I worked on the full drawing set for Centra Credit Union in New Albany, Indiana. The project was the second in a series of credit union projects for Centra incorporating new design and logos for the credit union. Drawings consisted of floor plans, exterior elevations, interior details, and ceiling plans. I also participated in the bidding process for contractors after the initial bid package was completed and worked with the contractors, attending construction meetings to oversee project completion until my return to school. Drawings were created in AutoCAD.
