ymcasouthcoast.org OUR MISSION
The improvement of the spiritual, mental, social, educational and physical conditions of all persons.
OUR CAUSE
At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn and grow. 1
Giving Kids Their Best Summer Ever...Again and Again! Dear Parents/Guardians and Campers, Welcome to the YMCA Southcoast Day Camp experience! We are delighted that you have decided to join us for a summer filled with fun, friendships and lasting memories. For over 50 years, our YMCA has been a leading provider of quality day camp programs. We place an emphasis on trying new activities, achieving goals, making friends and creating a sense of belonging for all children. Our leadership staff is always available to answer your questions and help you make the right camp selection for your child. Don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or suggestions. Thank you for choosing YMCA SOUTHCOAST. Sincerely, YMCA SOUTHCOAST Camp Team
PARENTS TRUST US YMCA SOUTHCOAST Day Camps provide a happy, healthy environment for children to learn and grow. Children have the opportunity to build self-confidence, independence, and creativity, while parents have the peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe and enriching place.
Registration Registration information is available 24/7 online at ymcasouthcoast.org. You may register in person during office hours. You can also fill out a registration packet and send it along with payment to the Y branch that you are planning to attend. Registration forms and any other necessary camp forms can be downloaded from our website at ymcasouthcoast.org. Early camper registration is strongly encouraged as space becomes limited.
Cancellations, Refunds and Withdrawals A written two week notice is required to withdraw your child from camp. Tuition, less the $50 deposit, will be refunded if notice is received two weeks prior to your child’s camp session. After the start of the camp session, refunds are made only if the child has an illness or an injury requiring doctor’s care or a note from the physician stating that he/she is unable to participate in camp activities. Requests for session changes should be submitted at least one week prior to the earliest session involved in the change. 2
WE’RE MORE THAN A PLACE. WE’RE A CAUSE.
Refer a Friend
YCares Financial Assistance
Simply refer your friends and family and save. For every new camper who registers from your referral you get a $50 credit towards your balance and the new enrolling family will also receive a $50 credit for each camper. The more you share the more rewards you receive. We look forward to having you experience summer camp with your friends.
EVERYONE BELONGS AT THE Y
At the Y, we know that every child can benefit from camp. We also know that not all children have what they need to thrive. That’s why together, with the generous support of our donors, we provide camp scholarships for families who need us most. If your family needs assistance, let us help. At the Y, no one is turned away because of inability to pay. Or, you can help send a child to camp! When you give to the Y, you give a child in need the chance to experience the life-changing power of camp.

SAFETY
Our campers are staffed by counselors who are genuinely interested in working with children—certified in First Aid and CPR. Each staff member must pass a rigorous background check before they start working at camp. In addition, each camp complies with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Health and local boards of health. YMCA Southcoast day camps operate according to standards set forth by the American Camp Association (ACA). This independent body establishes standards for key aspects of camp operation, program quality, health and safety of campers. Our partnership with ACA means we promote fun and learning in a safe environment. ACA accreditation signifies to parents and the public that a camp cares enough to thoroughly review its operational practices, seek the wisdom of other camp professionals, and make necessary improvements to comply with up to 275 professional camp standards. ACA standards are recognized by courts of law and government regulators as the standards for camp. ACA standards establish criteria for: • Administrative procedures • Developmentally appropriate activities • Emergency preparedness • Food service • Health care • Living areas • Personnel • Staff training • Transportation
