HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY LOLA! Wishing the most beautiful, stubborn, smart, adorable, demanding, sensitive, soulful, strong, tough, determined & absolute perfect girl the happiest of days.

Today means so much not just because it is Lola’s birthday, but because a month ago we weren’t sure we would be able to celebrate this milestone with our Lola girl.

To make a long story short, what was initially thought to be a torn ACL turned out to be osteosarcoma. Being at an appointment thinking the worst thing you would hear is confirmation that surgery would be needed to repair an ACL, & to instead hear osteosarcoma & she likely has a few weeks…it left us shaken, heartbroken & resolved. Lola’s personality & her beautiful brown eyes told us she had fight in her & wasn’t ready to go. Lola had her affected leg amputated at the end of January (thank you Dr. Cely & Village Vet Clinic of Hamburg) & began chemotherapy in Pittsburgh 3 weeks later. We are optimistic that we will get more than a few weeks with our perfect one.

We are celebrating today with a beautiful birthday dress, decorations, mom and dad singing Happy Birthday all day, lots of hugs, kisses & pets, a long car ride, visiting some of Lola’s favorite people (her Uncle Joe, Grandpa and Uncle Kyle) getting ice cream, eating cake, & of course presents!

Happy birthday to our sunshine – you make us happy when skies are gray. Words cannot express how much we love you sweet girl!
