Paramedical Tattooing/Restorative Cosmetic Tattooing is the art of tattooing flesh tone pigments into the skin or scar to blend, minimize, and conceal discolorations. It is a specialized area of Permanent Cosmetics that is also known as Medical or Paramedical Tattooing. -aestheticink.com Instructor, causing a lot of damage to her already delicate skin. Stacie took it upon herself to teach this form of art the correct way. Her passion for this specialty left me speechless! As soon as I could, I signed up for her class. While other students passed this class effortlessly, I was struggling. It took me offer 3D Areola to those ladies that desire it. Instead of quitting, I would take extended breaks from this class whenever it was too overwhelming for me. Today I can say, I am happy I did not quit! Although I am not at the point to offer this service yet, I am getting pretty close!

When I first opened Blissful Image, it was always my intention to get into Paramedical Tattooing. I started the Permanent Cosmetic aspect to start a foundation, after all learning the basics of the industry is very important and required. I thought I was going to quickly get into the Paramedical aspect of it. I thought it would be an easy transition being that I already have over 10 years of experience in the medical industry and I have a degree in the medical field.

Man was I wrong! From the perspective of someone who is not naturally artistic, it is not as easy as it seems.

In 2019 I decided to take a Prerequisite class from Stacie Rae for 3D Areolas, afterall it has been on top of my goals to accomplish. I met Stacie Rae at a conference and I LOVED her story. Not only is she a Traditional Tattoo Artist, but she is also a double breast mastectomy recipient that received a very bad experience from an Areola Tattoo over a year to finish the class. There were times I really wanted to quit! I wanted to give up on my passion to help breast cancer warriors for my selfish reason: it was too hard! Eventually I came back to my senses and remembered why I started Blissful Image in the first place! It wasn’t to offer Permanent Brows/ Eyeliner and Lips (although I offer those services, it’s not my ultimate goal. I’m being honest.) My purpose was to While taking this 3D Areola class, I came across more people that offer similar services. People like Jody Stoski, Eric Catalano and Mandy Sauler. They offer an abundance of different services such as Scar Camouflage, Realistic Areolas and other services of that nature. I found their work intriguing! I found that this specialty aligns perfectly with the vision I have for Blissful Image. This industry is not to be taken lightly, afterall one should not offer these types of services right after receiving training. People considering going into this field should take this very seriously and realise that they will forever be a student in this field. I am so excited to announce that I will be taking multiple trainings in this field. It will take me time to master a skill before moving on to the next training so I will not be offering these services in the near future, afterall I have not mastered the 3D Areola technique yet ( I’m working on it.) I will however in the near future start offering Radiation Marker Camouflage. That service will be complimentary! For people

that do not know what a radiation marker is: Radiographers often use small permanent black ink tattoos in order to position a patient underneath the radiotherapy machine. These small tattoos are positioned at the patient’s breast bone, and at points around the thorax. - https://theconversation.com

I am looking forward to learning more about this aspect of the Permanent Cosmetic industry and look forward to the day I will be able to start performing these types of services. I feel that Paramedical Tattooing is a great alternative for people who simply prefer not to go through another surgery. Afterall, realistically those types of surgeries are not minor and the percentage of complications that can occur/difficulty of recovery are not minimal. I have seen my cousin’s struggles during her breast reconstruction surgery. She elected out of her last surgery for her breast to be completed because it was too much for her. She was exhausted from the surgeries. Had I known then that realistic areola tattoos existed, I would have paid for her to have them done even if it meant flying out of Rochester, NY! Unfortunately she passed away a few years ago, otherwise her desire to feel like a complete woman would have come true.
