Old Kelleians Return Over 100 former pupils returned to Kelly College in May for our annual reunion and cricket fixture.
Headmaster’s Update
The Old Kelleian cricketers proved to be a strong team and for the first time in the College's history, the two teams were captained by brothers; Old Kelleian, Jack Newton and current pupil and Head of School, Jonty Newton. The toss was won by Jonty who put the old boys in to bat first. Opening bowler Jack Williams, made early inroads into the OKs' batting order. Jonathan Elliott, Jack Newton and Nathan Probert increased the scoring rate, until the introduction of Douglas Little, who tore through the middle order with 4 - 34. An onslaught by Tschepo Legodi, who smashed a quick fire 62, enabled Jack Newton to declare, leaving the School to chase 157 to win. Openers Barnaby Sargent Megicks and Robert Grove got the innings off to a great start, but with the introduction of Jonathan Elliott, wickets started to tumble. Jonty Newton with 72 and Danny Goldstone with 21, edged the current Kelleians towards their target, eventually winning by two wickets in the last over.
As always, the Summer Term seems to have flown by, but writing this editorial allows me a quiet moment to reflect on the term and all that has gone on. This edition covers the Ten Tors Challenge, the Jubilee Challenge, the Kelly Expedition and the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race, all of which were successfully tackled by our pupils with the usual strength for which they are well known. The weather during the Kelly Expedition was amongst the worst I have witnessed. However, our Kelleians were typically stoic and were magnificent in all they achieved. Then there was the Tavistock Music and Arts Festival, during which we were treated to some terrific group and solo performances. Similarly, our Summer Serenade was another perfect showcase for our musicians. Our various science and engineering teams have also been busy, competing around the county and working on projects with companies such as Toyota and AMEY. Public examinations have been a major focus for many of our pupils this term; I know that they have worked studiously and I look forward to celebrating their results with them.
We have had weather from one extreme to the other, but somewhere in the midst of it all, the sports fixtures have gone ahead with our 1st IX rounders team completing an unbeaten season. There have been some exciting cricket matches and a number of boys have been chosen to play for West Devon and the County. Looking forward to the next academic year, the reopening of School House, changes in boarding arrangements and the introduction of our new Saturday School programme, all point to an exciting new future. I am eager to share these details in greater depth in the Kelly College 2018 Development Plan. I hope that all the children have a lovely summer and that everyone can enjoy some rest and relaxation. Pupils Complete ‘Canoe Marathon’ Harsh Weather Adds Extra Challenge to Ten Tors At Easter, 17 Kelly pupils attempted the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon.
Horrendous weather, blisters and fatigue added an extra challenge for the 38 Kelleians who competed in the Ten Tors on Dartmoor.
According to the organisers, more than 400 competitors were forced to pull out and disorientation, due to a severe lack of visibility, was a major concern from very early on. Despite the conditions, all Kelly teams completed the event, with only one fall out due to illness. It was a fantastic performance by all the Kelly pupils.
In a year in which 20% of the senior paddlers retired because of the cold conditions, all of the Kelly paddlers showed outstanding determination and completed the course. Congratulations to the full squad of Amy Anstee, Benjamin Ashley, Alexander Boswell, Clementine Boyle, Louisa Butcher, Henry Chamberlain, Katy Collingwood, Leon Cording, Guy Coulton, Matthew Earp, Olivia Hampden-Smith, Oliver Hancox, Julia Howard, Laura Nicholas, Finn Ramirez, Will Stewart and Fleur Sylvester on their fantastic achievement. We would also like to extend our most sincere thanks to all the parents who have supported the pupils throughout the training, preparation and completion of this truly Herculean challenge.
Cadets Visit Scottish Glens Our strong tradition of outdoor education continued over the Easter break with a Combined Cadet Force trip to the stunning Glen Dhu, Scotland. At the start of the week, the group were given 100 ‘groats’, to be used as both currency and a measure of their success, and a list of tasks to complete. Any number of tasks could be undertaken and in any order, but the cadets had to have a net worth of 500 ‘groats’ by the time the week had ended. Some of the tasks undertaken were to kayak to the end of the loch and make a cup of tea on an island and to walk up and over the surrounding glens and have a team photo in front of the tallest waterfall in Northern Europe.
Running alongside the Ten Tors was the Jubilee Challenge: a circuit of up to 15 miles specifically for young people with special educational or physical needs. 4th Form pupil Virginia Butcher represented Kelly College in this event. She did really well, coming joint first on her route having led most of the way. Congratulations to everyone who took part and thanks to all the staff and parents who have helped out over the training and during the event.
Kelly Expedition 2013 Over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of March, 59 pupils from the 4th, 5th and 6th Forms took part in the 2013 Kelly Expedition. During the walk, pupils’ navigation, commitment and teamwork were ruthlessly tested by extraordinarily low visibility. Despite the conditions, spirits were high, even when many walkers woke up on day two to frozen tents and even frozen boots. All teams eventually finished the walk to a fantastic reception from parents. Thanks to all the staff and parents who have committed a huge amount of time and effort to make this year’s Kelly Expedition, and all the training that goes into it, such a success.
Physicists Hunt for Higgs Boson At the start of Summer Term, Lower 6th Form pupils visited Bristol University to take part in a Particle Physics Master Class. The group spent the day learning first-hand about recent developments in high energy particles and astrophysics. Professor Nick Brook, Head of the School of Physics, welcomed the pupils before he began the first lecture of the day. Activities during the day included analysing data from CERN and using one of the UK’s most powerful research computers to search for evidence of W and Z boson decays. The pupils also took part in designing and delivering a pitch for the next particle accelerator and detector.
Design Technology Takes to the Pool Conway pupils were busy in the Design and Technology Department this term in preparation for our annual Amazon Patrol Boat Race.
Each of our 1st Form pupils built their own boat. This event marks the fruition of many months of work and features around 40 boats in total. The race itself consisted of one width of the College's pool. Congratulations to this year’s winners, Oliver Allsop and Louis Bailey.
Pupils Complete GO4SET Project The end of May saw the culmination of 15 weeks of hard work by the GO4SET Team of Kacper Brudnik, Jacob Clinton, Katherine Hawley, Charlotte Luckham-Down, Jessica Rockey and Sophie Russell. The team started their project in February, when they were given the brief of imagining their school upon an island. Having decided to concentrate on transport and energy issues, the team worked closely with their mentor company, Babcock Marine, to devise suitable answers and solutions to the many problems posed.
Geographers Receive Government Commendation
Charlotte Allen, Richard Bennett, Josie Francis, Edward Jenks, Cara Layden and Siân Temple have been commended by the UK Government and awarded a certificate from Rt Hon Justine Greening MP, the Secretary of State for International Development, in recognition of their entry into the ‘Shape the Future’ competition. During the competition, pupils had to present their plans for the post 2015 UN Development Goals and consider the current Millennium Development Goals, why they were selected and how effectively international agreement operates.
Top Two Finish in Solar Car Challenge
On the final day of the project, the team proudly revealed their island model, resplendent with gondolas for transporting pupils around the island, a ferry and a working hydro-electric generator.

Robotics Flourishes
Leon Cording, Kristie Kwok, Joshua Lovett and Ognjen Lukacevic represented Kelly this term in the Engineering Education Scheme.
Members of the Kelly Robotics Club have visited four primary schools in recent weeks, giving taster demonstrations to over 100 Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
The pupils worked on a traffic management project with the company AMEY. After six months of hard work, they had to present a 15-minute presentation and field questions from judges. Suffice to say, everyone was impressed as explanations of traffic calming schemes and pedestrian considerations were well informed.
These presentations have been well received and now the club will present to the Kelly College Governors. Thanks to the Old Kelleian Club for their valuable support in enabling our pupils to explore this truly fascinating subject.
Five pupils achieved second place at the regional finals of the Toyota STEM Solar Car Challenge. The team, comprising of Daniel Gillard, Benjamin Hancox, Lydie Jenks, Harry Williams and Oliver Wood was tasked with designing, building and racing a model vehicle against teams from 120 other South West schools. The Solar Flares, as the team had branded themselves, excelled during the final. They only just missed out on top spot; the difference between first and second was less than two marks.

Medal Haul in South West Championships
Eight Kelly Swimmers competed at the British Gas International Swim Meet in March.
Three Gold Medals were awarded to Kelly swimmers, two of which went to Milly Furneaux. Congratulations to Stephanie Reynolds, who picked up the other.
Olympic Champions and medallists were competing, as well as Britain’s top athletes. The Kelly squad rose to the challenge, achieving a number of Gold Medal wins and new records.
21 swimmers competed at the second weekend of the ASA South West Regional Age Group Championships. The girls’ 11-14 years 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay was won by Emily Cutler, Jemma Layden, Cara Layden and Chloe Barrow. In the individual events, Chloe Barrow won the 14 year old girls’ 100m Butterfly and the 200m Butterfly, both in personal best times. These were also Kelly Age Group Records. Benjamin Staig did equally well in the boys’ 100m Butterfly; he took first and recorded a new personal best and Kelly Age Group Record. Benjamin also placed 3rd in the 200m Backstroke. A Silver Medal and a new Kelly Age Group Record went to Emily Cutler in the 200m Backstroke. Jake Bentley took two Silvers in the 200m Backstroke and the 400m Freestyle for 13 year old boys. In the first of these races, he recorded a new Kelly Age Group Record. Jake also won Bronze in the 100m Freestyle. A Bronze Medal went to Robyn Edwards in the 14 year old girls’ 200m Backstroke.
Some of the highlights included Hannah Russell taking Gold Medals in the 400m Freestyle and the 100m Backstroke. George Humphrey also showed some real form recording a new personal best and new Kelly College Record in the 200m Backstroke. A number of our swimmers also recorded new personal best times. Many congratulations to Ollie Willis, Milly Furneaux, Cara Layden and Nikita Ivanov.
In addition to her Gold Medal, Stephanie also won three Silver Medals. Nikita Ivanov and Thomas McLagan also won Silver in their events. Matthew Courtis also had a successful competition. He won two Bronze Medals, with a third being collected by Laker Wong. Two swimmers also achieved qualifying times. Well done to Stephanie Reynolds and Ollie Willis.
Cornwall and West Devon League The Kelly Swim Squad started the Summer Term with success at the Cornwall and West Devon League Meet. After some impressive swims, Kelly secured a convincing first place over its neighbouring clubs. Teams from Plymouth, Launceston, Helston and Paignton were in attendance; however, the Kelly swimmers showed great quality to overcome their local competitors, securing 40 first place finishes out of a total of 51 races.
Swimmers Show Style in Sheffield Two swimmers competed at the British Disability Open International in April.
A fantastic weekend ended with Emily Cutler and Benjamin Staig breaking three Kelly Age Group Records each. Chloe Barrow recorded two new records. Well done to Jack Hutchin, Jake Bentley and Nathan Linden who all set one new record each.
Hannah Russell claimed Gold in the 400m Freestyle, an event in which she holds the current World Record and a London 2012 Silver Medal. In the 50m Freestyle, Hannah recorded a new British Record of 27.91. In all, she gained four World Championship qualifying times and has been selected to represent Great Britain later this year.
British Age Group Category (BAGCAT) winners were Tom Harrison, Jake Bentley, Cara Layden, Georgia Martin, Emily Cutler and Chloe Barrow.
Mikey Jones also competed at the International Meet. After recently being reclassified to an S7 from an S8, Mikey achieved six personal best times, most notably in the 400m Freestyle.
Pupils Perform at Music and Arts Festival Our music scholars played an active role in the 2013 Tavistock Music and Arts Festival. They first performed in the town's Abbey Chapel to a very appreciative audience. In this recital, Carys Twyman gave an assured performance on the flute, followed by Freddie Shere on the Alto Saxophone and Violinist, Eric Yeung. Bertie Jayarajah had the audience foot-tapping before Sophie Whitfield sang a beautiful Beethoven song, from a poem by Goethe. Elizabeth Barnes rounded off
Success in Music Exams 11 pupils took their London College of Music Examinations in April. Upper 6th Former Betsy Kharas achieved a Diploma in Musical Theatre, making her full title ‘Betsy Kharas Dip. L.C.M’. Elizabeth Barnes, Felicitas Rieder and Sophie Whitfield all achieved Merits at Grade 8 in Musical Theatre with Elizabeth also receiving a Distinction in Grade 7 Singing. Chloe Barrow achieved Grade 7
Musicians Celebrate Summer June's concert, the Summer Serenade, provided a varied musical evening and demonstrated a wealth of talent.
The concert opened with a medley sung by the Senior Choir, followed by some equally well-loved classics played by the College Orchestra. Billy Allen made his conducting debut and Chantal Whitfield led the orchestra. Bertie Jayarajah, Sophie Whitfield, Chantal Whitfield, Freddie Shere and Ciarra Glossop all played some memorable solo pieces, before our Jazz Band swung into action. The Junior Choir took to the stage next, before Elizabeth Barnes and Chantal Whitfield performed individual pieces. Forces were joined for the finale of the evening; Andrew Wilson’s 'Daedalus and Icarus'. The choir and orchestra were joined by soloists Ian Hardy and Mark Perry, pupil soloists Sophie Whitfield and Richard Bennett and Mary Mazur Park on the Piano.
the concert with the technically challenging 'Rondo' from Mozart’s Flute Concerto in G. Our music scholars then, along with many other musicians from the College, performed in 'Tavistock Sings' in St Eustachius’ Church. This showcase of local school choirs provided a rousing finale to a highly successful festival of music. One highlight of the event was the premiere of Director of Music, Andrew Wilson's 'Daedalus and Icarus' - a dramatic cantata for chorus, soloists and piano. Musical Theatre and Vicky Callow gained a Merit in Grade 8 Pop Vocals. Two more Distinctions were awarded in Grade 5 Musical Theatre, to Carys Twyman and Sophie Russell. Jessica Lunn also sat Grade 5 Musical Theatre and was rewarded with a Merit. Madeleine Knight and Toby Coulton were the recipients of the final two Distinctions. They were both awarded in Musical Theatre at Grade 4 and Grade 3.

Top Marks in LAMDA Exams
Our musicians travelled to North Devon in May, receiving a standing ovation from a thoroughly delighted crowd.
A string of high marks were awarded to Kelleians after their Easter LAMDA Examinations.
The pupils, who were playing at the historic church at Milton Damerel, performed a varied programme of solos, duets and larger ensembles, in aid of the church restoration fund. Elizabeth Barnes played one of her own compositions, the 'Valse', for flute and piano, and a piece by Mozart. The 'Laudamus Te' from Vivaldi’s 'Gloria', a vocal duet sung by Sophie and Chantal Whitfield, suited the beautiful setting particularly well. The audience especially enjoyed the pieces by Elgar, Tchaikovsky and Strauss, played by all the scholars together.
Four pupils received 94 marks at Grade 8 Mime. Congratulations to Amy Lloyd, Kate Blackwell, Rebekah Hainsworth and Daisy Waggett. Pupils also sat exams in Public Speaking. These included Oliver Hancox and Jack Cooper who achieved marks of 90 and 94 respectively at Grade 8. Lauren Ross and Elizabeth Duncan were awarded 92 at Grade 7 Acting. Also in Acting, William Bennett scored 96 at Grade 4. Among the high achievers in Verse and Prose were Molly Sellers who secured 90 at Grade 5 and Richard Bennett who earned the same mark at Grade 4.
Russell Wins Rounders
Nail Biting Finale to Sports Day Parents, pupils and staff gathered for a morning of sporting events in May. As ever, the events were well contested, with a number of pupils receiving multiple Gold Medals. Luke Webster, Eleanor Partington, Dylan Cowell, Kirsty Farquharson and Harry Turner all showed their track and field class, winning a collection of medals each.
Pupils from Marwood House and Russell House competed in the annual Senior Girls’ Inter-House Rounders match. Russell went into bat first and almost everyone on the team scored at least half a rounder. When fielding, Holly Wixon and Hannah Sutcliffe both caused the Marwood side problems. Laura Nicholas, Daisy Waggett, Megan Benton and Emma Davidson all fought hard for Marwood, but Russell House emerged as 18.5 - 7 winners.
The day came to a dramatic conclusion when, separated by only a point, the two boys’ Houses had to retake their final event. After a dramatic re-race, School House emerged as winners. The girls’ events ended with Russell House securing the over-all win and Mrs Baldock's team secured first place in the keenly contested Conway competition.

Summer Arrives in Time for Cricket Season Our U13 cricket teams were busy at the crease. One of the U13A team’s early fixtures saw them face Plymouth College. Kelly won this exciting match 136 - 5. Both the U13A and B teams were in action next against Exeter. An assured performance from the A team saw them finish 97 - 2, while the B team also earned victory. Later in the season, several teams collected wins against Shebbear. The 1st XI led the way, winning 153 - 3. The U15As finished their match with a 105 run advantage. The U15B team also won against Shebbear. Eight wickets was the difference between the two sides. The U13 matches against Shebbear were a little closer. The U13A team won their fixture by 27 runs, but the U13B team had to battle through a much more closely fought encounter. Only a single run decided the match and ensured the Kelleians the narrowest of victories. These results were in contrast to the Devon Cup match played by the U13As against Hele’s School. In this instance, the team won by 101 runs.
Stylish End to Netball Season Our U13 and U14 Netball teams finished the season strongly. The U13s recorded a memorable victory at the Plymouth Schools’ Netball Tournament. They won the competition, recording only a single loss for the duration of the event. Other impressive wins included a double over Stover, which saw the A and B teams secure 22 - 3 and 26 - 2 victories respectively. The B team also beat Mount House 22 - 7. Our U14s also competed in the Plymouth Schools’ Netball Tournament, winning the competition. The tournament statistics make impressive reading. In 60 minutes of play, the Kelleians scored a total of 56 goals, conceding only 3.
School House and Courtenay House put forward two teams to compete in the Senior Boys' Inter-House Hockey match. From the start, both teams looked to secure early possession, but it was Courtenay who emerged the dominant team. The School House boys battled well, but they couldn’t stop Courtenay edging in front and controlling possession more effectively. This paved the way for Courtenay to secure a 3 - 0 win.
Rounders Team Unbeaten A high standard was set this season by our 1st IX. The team recorded wins over Okehampton, Plymouth College and Stoodley Knowle. In the team’s final match of the season, Shebbear pushed them all the way; however, the girls showed admirable resolve to draw and complete an unbeaten season. Another impressive season was achieved by our U15s. An 11.5 - 10.5 win over Plymouth College was one of the closer matches. A more comfortable victory came against Okehampton; 14 rounders separated the teams. Our U14s have also played well this year. A hard fought victory over Plymouth College saw the team win by half a rounder. When the two sides met again later in the season, Kelly won the match by 5.5 rounders. Other victories for the U14s included a 20 - 16 win over Okehampton. Keen to follow their peers’ example, our Conway team were excellent when they faced Shebbear. This match ended Kelly 11.5, Shebbear 4.5.
Pupil Competes in London Mini Marathon
Cadets Undergo Biennial Inspection Our CCF contingent, consisting of all three sections, 96 cadets as well as all the officers, non-commissioned officers and adult volunteers, recently underwent its biennial inspection. During the inspection, two RAF personnel, two officers from 43 Wessex Brigade, the Cadet Training Team and the main inspecting officer, Captain Richard Farrington, who commands the Maritime Warfare Centre at Portsmouth, judged the entire contingent’s ability to perform as a disciplined and effective organisation. Captain Farrington and the rest of the inspection party scrutinized the cadets as they completed a number of drills and exercises. Throughout the course of the day, Captain Farrington repeatedly commented on the positive and personable characters of our cadets.
2nd Form pupil Siân Temple travelled to London on the 20th and 21st of April to compete in the London Mini Marathon.
Pupils Immerse Themselves in Parisian Culture
Pupil Performs with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Ensemble 5th Form pupil Ciara Glossop recently played with the wind ensemble from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at St. Endellion Church, Port Isaac. Ciara, who plays the clarinet, was one of three musicians selected from the Cornwall Youth Orchestra to play at the concert, and was lucky enough to sit next to the orchestra’s principal clarinettist.
During a long and exciting weekend, Siân ran a fantastic race and finished 12th out of 297 competitors in the U13 category. This meant that she was the highest placed female athlete from South West England.
Nine 4th and 5th Form pupils studying French jetted off for a whistle stop tour of Paris in April.
Coach Nominated for Award
The group first headed to the city’s most famous attraction, the Eiffel Tower, for a panoramic view of the city.
Rebekah Hainsworth has gained a place to study at Arts Educational London, whose principal is Andrew Lloyd Webber.
On the first full day in the city, a Bateau Mouche tour, a walk along the banks of the Seine to Place de la Concorde and a walk up to Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur Basilica left everyone very hungry. After lunch, the pupils visited the Musée Rodin and Les Invalides, before visiting the Latin Quarter and Notre Dame Cathedral.
On average, the school has over 1,000 applicants for only 40 places. Rebekah has done extremely well to be accepted and we wish her all the best in pursuing her dream.
Netball coach, Mrs Dann, has been nominated to receive a Regional Volunteer Award. Her nomination is within the category of Unsung Hero and comes following her outstanding contribution to the development of the sport.
Eager to see and experience as much as possible, the next day was just as busy. The catacombs of Paris were the first stop. These former mines are filled with the bones of over six million people and to many pupils’ surprise, this seemingly sombre and grotesque attraction actually held a great deal of beauty in the way the bones are arranged. Later, the group headed to the Louvre, then after some time spent in the Tuilerie Gardens and at the Arc de Triomphe, the pupils spent their final evening soaking up the atmosphere on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

Heads of School Announced The Heads of School, along with the School Monitors, for 2013 - 2014 were announced towards the end of the academic year. Congratulations to Finn Ramirez and Louisa Butcher who were appointed Heads of School. Alexander Boswell, Henry Chamberlain, Katie Collingwood, Leon Cording, Guy Coulton, George Davies, Matthew Earp, Betsy Kharas, Laura Nicholas, Will Stewart and Jack Williams were all selected to be monitors. Many congratulations to each of them.
Senior Pupils Celebrate Year of Sport
Year 5 Pupils Visit Kelly On Thursday 23rd May, we welcomed pupils from across the region to take part in our latest Taster Day. We offered Year 5 pupils the opportunity to spend the day as a Kelleian and experience daily life around the school. A diverse schedule included a range of academic, sporting and co-curricular activities. Pupils were particularly intrigued by the snakes and insects that inhabit the College’s Biology laboratories.
Senior pupils gathered on the evening of Thursday 23rd May for the College’s Senior Pupils’ Sports Dinner. Among the attendees for the evening was guest speaker, Sarah Collings. A Commonwealth Games medallist and holder of two European Championship Medals and four World Cups, Sarah spoke to the pupils about the importance of envisioning your goals, believing in yourself and aspiring to achieve greatness. The final event of the evening was the award ceremony. A total of 22 trophies were awarded to pupils who had excelled or greatly improved in Cricket, Rugby, Hockey, Netball, Rounders, Swimming and Athletics.
Taster Day Heralds New Saturday
Product Design Pupils Exhibit Their Work GCSE Product Design pupils put their work on show during our annual exhibition. A striking feature of this year’s event was the variety of work that was on show. Illustrating the creativity and expertise of this year’s pupils was the sheer number of different products that had been created. These ranged from items of furniture such as tables, chairs and desks, to more delicate creations like clocks and mirrors. Furthering the diversity of the show was the range of materials that had been used. Glass, steel and fabric were all used in creative and innovative ways.
Thriving Cadet Force Holds Annual Dinner
Towards the end of term, parents and pupils enjoyed a range of activities and were introduced to the strategy behind important changes to our Saturday School Programme, which is due to be rolled out in September 2013. Headmaster Dr Graham Hawley explains that “We are providing an opportunity for all pupils to explore their own interests and talents and build a broad personal portfolio of enriching and exciting academic and co-curricular achievements.” This new programme will offer three strands of education: Academic, Cultural Enrichment and Skills and the Outdoor Classroom. Within the Academic strand, pupils can study the AQA Higher Project Qualification and the AQA Extended Project Qualification, which count towards GCSE, A Level and UCAS entry points and are increasingly sought by highly selective universities. The Cultural Enrichment and Skills strand includes studying Chinese, Tai Chi, Dance, Photography and Cookery and the Outdoor Classroom offers training and qualifications in areas such as Climbing, Horse Riding, Canoeing and Mountain Biking.
Our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) came together in June to celebrate a highly successful year. The event involved senior cadets from the Army, Navy and Air Force contingents. Also in attendance to celebrate the CCF’s continued success, were several members of staff from the College and the cadet force. Cadets and staff celebrated the evening with dinner and a welcome chance to look back over the previous year. Highlights of which include trips to RAF St. Mawgan, Cornwall; Glen Dhu, Scotland and a Royal Navy sailing course in Plymouth. New additions to the programme have seen activities such as Royal Navy Field Gunning bolster an already replete schedule.
