Doug Stenberg
Veteran, Biker, and Champion for Trump
Doug Stenberg was in the military for just over twenty years. He began his military career in the Navy Seabees from 19721975. Eleven years later, he joined the New Hampshire National Guard and around that same time, his former passion for riding motorcycles was reignited.

Back in the 1960’s, Stenberg grew up on a farm and got into riding motorcycles with his friends from school. “I got together with kids my age and we went. It wasn’t an elaborate thing like it is today in 2020,” Stenberg said, referring to the generous support bikers contribute to the community. From toy runs at Christmas to the marches in advocacy of constitutional rights, bikers unite to provide protection and relief for their communities. After he retired from the military in 2006, Stenberg craved the winding roads and the humble roar of a Harley-Davidson. His Harley hankering led him to purchase a chrome and cranberry bodied 1997 Dyna. Like many veterans, Stenberg did not retire the military without the sacrifice of his health. Serving in Iraq during OPERATION DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM, and others, left him 80% disabled with nerve damage and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He found solace in riding and within the biker community. “90% of the bikers I know are veterans who served in Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan,” he said. Being among a group of people who shared his same values and could relate to his life experiences provided Stenberg with a sense of relief and freedom.
On a trip from South Carolina to Washington DC, Stenberg and about forty other bikers set off and were eventually joined by almost two thousand other bikers. Thousands of bikers cruising down the interstate, two-by-two, with the wind whipping at their backs and a harmony of low growls from the engines humming throughout the air, the only word that Stenberg could use to describe his experience was “fascinating” – an all-encompassing word that marvels at the unparalleled camaraderie and support amongst the biker community.
Whether in a Motorcycle Organization (MO) or a fly-by night biker, like Stenberg who just rallies and rides, many bikers take a strong stance on patriotism and the preservation g
of American rights declared in the nation’s constitution. For this reason, they are among the most remarkable supporters of President Trump.
President Trump goes beyond politics when it comes to running our great nation. He knows what needs to be done to transcend America from a fruitful dream to a flourishing reality. “All the bikers that I know support President Trump and care about making America what it is supposed to be,” Stenberg said. And what America is supposed to be is great and free; free to exercise their rights as scripted in the Constitution.
When it comes to making speeches or even posting on Twitter, President Trump is a straight-shooter. “I feel President Trump tells them like it is … This man is not afraid to tell you, no matter who you are, what’s right and what’s wrong,” Stenberg said. Whether Trump is speaking on the validity of the news, the necessity of the wall on the Mexican border, or the urgency of the protection of American rights, he is not afraid to go against the current to fight for what is right.
One of the most prominent reasons Stenberg stands in support of President Trump is Trump’s fulfilment of his pledge to rebuild and modernize America’s military. “Trump is trying to help make the military better on the same token that he is trying to help the American people,” Stenberg said, attributing to the signing of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which authorizes a historic 738 billion dollar defense spending budget, investment in vital equipment for our forces, a 3.1% pay raise for troops, among many other enhancements to the quality of life for our military members and their families.
Doug Stenberg assumes many roles as an American citizen: veteran, biker, father, and friend – as do many bikers in America. But perhaps his most critical role in this election season is advocate and champion for President Trump’s reelection. Stenberg affirms that “President Trump needs to be reelected for America’s sake,” and voices his hope for the American public to see President Trump’s vision for a greater America.
