SUPER LUCKY DUCK

A B Our lightweight wing design along with its heavy duty direct drive quiet motor is the reason that the Super Lucky is still on the top seller’s list. The addition of the intermittent timer allows the wing movement to shut off periodically, giving the decoy a more life like duck action. Can be used with our Remote Control Kit allowing the hunter complete control over the decoy’s motion. Wings detach for ease of transportation. FAVORITE SPECIES: It used to be teal but now it’s crows. I don’t shoot ducks any more. I’ve shot enough. And there’s a lot of challenge to crows. They’ve got great eyesight and they’re smart. You’ve really got to try to outsmart them. For fishing, I like Bluegill on the spawn beds and I’ve always got to go ice fishing a couple of times for them. TOP FISHING MEMORY: Probably the night my ex brother-in-law and I spent out in the middle of Lake Pepin. The crankshaft of the motor went bad. It sounded good but it wouldn’t turn. We were in the middle of the lake from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. and there were barges come past us and everything. Finally the wind shifted out of the northwest and blew us to the Minnesota side. We walked to U.S. Highway 61 and hitch hiked back to Lake City, Minn. They had taken a boat out to look for us but they all thought we had holed up somewhere. And we didn’t catch any fish!

I was in the boat and we were on the Wisconsin side of Lake Pepin. (Husband) Tim netted it and it was very scary to have that thing in the boat with the three of us. It weighed 18 pounds.

In January all I can think about is fishing and in July all I can think about is duck hunting. FAVORITE FISHING MEMORY: One I will never forget was in Canada at Milt Wernsman’s camp when I was 7 or 8. I was there with my Dad and Grandpa (Earl Tichy) and grandpa loved fishing more than anybody I know. He’d get so excited about it he could hardly talk. Well we went out on the first day and he was pumped up to make the first cast. Not only was it going to be the first cast, it was going to be the longest cast. He had a baitcaster and a Bomber crankbait. Well, he stuck it right in my skull. FAVORITE HUNTING MEMORY: I remember duck hunting with my Dad and Chris Brackett in a flooded corn field. I was standing on a pallet and I was probably 11 or 12. Every duck that came in they would shoot. Then they promised I would get a shot at the next duck. And a hen and drake wood duck came in and I dropped them with one shot. My first ducks and I killed them both with one shot.

TOP FISHING MEMORY: We used to go to Blue Lakes for ice fishing. One day we were almost done and we were switching lakes and just left the auger in the truck and fished some existing holes. We just dropped down into the holes and started catching crappie one after another. We filled a five-gallon bucket with pound to pound-and-a-half crappie.
