Rick Dunn
Ricks’ family is old Arkansas, born and raised. Rick’s GrandDad was the first Mayor of Jacksonville, AR, and that’s where Rick was born and raised. In 1983 Rick decided to try competition calling. The first contest Rick won was a Regional Contest, and he knew then, he was hooked. Nine out of eleven times Rick finished in the Top Ten at the Stuttgart World Championship until he finally won in 1997.

Tim Grounds Owner of Tim Grounds Calls Tim Grounds’ name is synonymous with goose calling. Tim is the only call maker to have had three different calls win the world title: Guides Best, Pro Super Mag, Super Mag. His calls have won more contests than any call on the market today. He and his son, Hunter, both are retired from the World Goose Calling Contest in Easton, having won it 3 times each; only father and son duo to have accomplished this prestigious feat.

Hunter Grounds
HUNTER GROUNDS, born June 10, 1987, has made history in the field of goose calling. By the time he was 20 yr. old he was retired from the WORLD GOOSE calling contest in Easton, MD, winning it in 2003, 2005, and 2007. At 16 yr. of age his win in 2003 made him the youngest to ever hold the title. In that same year of 2003 he also won the WORLD Junior Goose and the WORLD Intermediate Duck. He is the only caller to ever win the Senior and Junior division at the WORLD on the same night.

Clay Hudnall
Clay Hudnall is the owner of Field Proven Calls and has been in the waterfowl industry for 15 years. Clay has had the opportunity to hunt all over the US and with a lot of successful hunters. Seeing hunters get excited about landing a flock of ducks or geese is what drives Clay to get up every morning during the hunting season.

Butch Richenback
Butch is the founder of Rich n Tone calls in Stuttgart, Arkansas, the rice & duck capital of the world. He is a world champion & champion of champions duck caller. Butch hosts calling education classes and is dedicated to teaching kids how to blow a duck call.

NICKNAME: Head Worm HUNTING OR FISHING: It’s equal, 50/50. FAVORITE SPECIES: It used to be teal but now it’s crows. I don’t shoot ducks any more. I’ve shot enough. And there’s a lot of challenge to crows. They’ve got great eyesight and they’re smart. You’ve really got to try to outsmart them. For fishing, I like Bluegill on the spawn beds and I’ve always got to go ice fishing a couple of times for them. TOP FISHING MEMORY: Probably the night my ex brother-in-law and I spent out in the middle of Lake Pepin. The crankshaft of the motor went bad. It sounded good but it wouldn’t turn. We were in the middle of the lake from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. and there were barges come past us and everything. Finally the wind shifted out of the northwest and blew us to the Minnesota side. We walked to U.S. Highway 61 and hitch hiked back to Lake City, Minn. They had taken a boat out to look for us but they all thought we had holed up somewhere. And we didn’t catch any fish!

In January all I can think about is fishing and in July all I can think about is duck hunting. FAVORITE FISHING MEMORY: One I will never forget was in Canada at Milt Wernsman’s camp when I was 7 or 8. I was there with my Dad and Grandpa (Earl Tichy) and grandpa loved fishing more than anybody I know. He’d get so excited about it he could hardly talk. Well we went out on the first day and he was pumped up to make the first cast. Not only was it going to be the first cast, it was going to be the longest cast. He had a baitcaster and a Bomber crankbait. Well, he stuck it right in my skull. FAVORITE HUNTING MEMORY: I remember duck hunting with my Dad in a flooded corn field. I was standing on a pallet and I was probably 11 or 12. Every duck that came in they would shoot. Then they promised I would get a shot at the next duck. And a hen and drake wood duck came in and I dropped them with one shot. My first ducks and I killed them both with one shot.

The solitude. Crappie and walleye in fishing. They taste good. And there are so many different techniques for walleye. It’s more of a challenge. TOP FISHING MEMORY: We used to go to Blue Lakes for ice fishing. One day we were almost done and we were switching lakes and just left the auger in the truck and fished some existing holes. We just dropped down into the holes and started catching crappie one after another. We filled a five-gallon bucket with pound to pound-and-a-half crappie.

I like spring turkey hunting because you get to call to the birds and hear how vocal they are. For whitetail deer you just never know what’s going to walk by on a given day during the rut. and archery HUNTING OR FISHING: Hunting. I grew up with it. I still like to fish but I find it more exciting to hunt. FAVORITE SPECIES: Whitetail deer. More than anything I like hunting them because of the challenge in it and learning about deer and their habits. I like figuring out where to hang stands and seeing where the deer will go. All I do is archery hunt. It’s very exciting when you get one in close. NOTABLE: Shot a 19-point Peoria County buck on Jan. 8, 2012 that grossed 204 5/8 inches.

HUNTING OR FISHING: Mostly hunting, but I like to fish too FAVORITE SPECIES: Waterfowl. Been hunting them since I was 5. Still learning to this day. TOP FISHING/HUNTING MEMORY: I just can’t point one story out. Every day with my dad and friends is a memorable experience. Although, one time I killed three bands in one day! The other duck right after had a nine year old band on it. It was just a lucky day and I have not killed another band since.

It was only a spike, but to me he felt like a wall hanger! Pop helped me drag it out too.
