Welcome to the 4th annual Star Gate Cattle Bull & Bred Female Sale. We’ve sorted it down to a solid set of 80 coming 2-year-old bulls and 27 bred heifers to show you. We’re grateful for the growth and progress our company has made, and we know that’s possible because of our great customers. Thank you for your support.
At SGC we believe in purpose-built cattle, and then matching them to their environment and intended use. Whether you’re looking for Angus bulls with proven maternal genetics and fleshing ability, SimAngus bulls that will add heterosis and performance from start to finish, or heifer bulls with genomic enhanced EPDS that will protect your investments. We have something to fit your needs and elevate your herd going forward.
At SGC the work doesn’t just stop at selecting the right genetics. We believe in developing bulls with the needs of the customer in mind. Our bulls are all age advantaged to provide greater durability and get more cows bred. The average yearling bull only settles 40% of the females he services while the average 2-year-old bull settles over 60%. Less total mountings mean a tighter calving window and less chances for injury. These bulls are primarily developed in a strip grazing or rotational grazing system, rather than solely in the feedlot. In this setting they learn how to respect a hotwire, how to move off a dog or horse and how to find feed outside of a bunk. You won’t find us feeding hot rations, trimming any feet, or selling over conditioned bulls that will melt off when turned out. We’re confident enough in the way our bulls have been bred and developed that we offer a 4-year warranty on every 2-year-old bull we sell. Go to page 4 to view details.
At SGC we also do our best to be thorough in breeding, developing, and managing our females. We are big believers in time tested maternal genetics. We cull heavily on feet, legs, udders, pelvic scores, reproductive efficiency, fleshing ability, longevity, mature size, eye appeal and temperament. Accordingly, our seed stock herd has no dams with balloon udders, no bad feet, no poor mothers, and no hot temperaments. All females have been appropriately managed, vaccinated, wormed, and have been pregnancy checked by Dr. Ben Sukowaty. All females have been AI’d on June 14th to SAV Rainfall and then limited to an exposed breeding window of 30 days. That gives an estimated start date of March 24th. All heifers have been cleaned up with SGC registered angus calving ease bulls.

As part of our aim to provide bulls that will withstand the roughest conditions and be profitable to ranchers, we offer the following warranty: All 2-year-old bulls sold by Star Gate Cattle will be guaranteed against injury that renders them incapable of breeding or to be a potential breeder, except those circumstances listed below.
This guarantee only applies to the original purchaser. This guarantee also only applies to bulls that have been maintained, at all times, by the original purchase for standard beef breeding practices and under normal breeding conditions. Bulls must also have been maintained in accordance with good animal husbandry methods and management.
All claims shall be resolved in the following manner:
The guaranteed credit shall equal the original purchase price of the bull multiplied by the appropriate percentage (based on when the injury occurred), less an agreed upon salvage value. This amount shall be credited to the owner for the purchase of one bull from either the present inventory of Star Gate Cattle or at the first proceeding Star Gate Cattle bull sale. If the credit is not used at either of those times, then it will become void.
The amount credited is as follows:
• 100% from the time of purchase until bull is turned out to cows (no later than July 1st)
• 80% from 1st turn-out through October 1st of the same year.
• 60% throughout 2nd year
• 40% throughout 3rd year
• 20% throughout 4th year ending with the 4th anniversary
of original purchase
To make a claim, the original owner must contact Star Gate Cattle within 4 days of the discovery of the injury. They must also possess a document of the injury, signed by a licensed veterinarian. Star Gate Cattle reserves the right to have an agent of their own choice verify the injury and documentation of such. If any claims are denied by Star Gate Cattle, the original owner must then respond with a written legal explanation of why the guarantee should apply or forfeit all rights to any guarantee on the bull in question.
Exceptions not covered by this warranty include, but are not limited to:
Injuries or loss caused by motor vehicles, equipment, or trains. Injuries or loss from drowning, predation, or caused by acts of Nature/God (lightning, tornados, blizzard, bitter cold, fires). Injuries or loss from disease, feed intake, or poisoning. Injuries or loss from man-made causes. These include acts of war, acts of terrorism, radiation/nuclear, confiscation, quarantine, theft, malicious or willful injury to animals, carelessness, or neglect.
In the event of sudden death an autopsy must be performed within 24 hours by a licensed veterinarian to determine cause. Without a written report and indentified cause we cannot offer any compensation.

Every registered Angus bull in this sale today has verified parentage and enhanced genomic EPDs. We will provide a full supplemental print out on the website and on sale day for those wishing to look at the full epd profile with the latest updates.
Lots marked anything other than “Registered Angus” will sell grade. If you have your eye on a certain Sim or SimAngus individual, let me know ahead of time and we can make concessions to accommodate that.

Trucking:
Free delivery on ALL lots within 200 miles. Free delivery to the lower 48 states when a customer spends $10,000 or more, or when a lot containing only one animal sells for $5,000 or more.
For all other customers we will do whatever we can to arrange economical trucking. We sold cattle into ten states in 2020, don’t let distance keep you from bidding.

All bulls will be delivered the first week of March. All females will be delivered prior to February 15th. Animals will be cared for from sale date to delivery at
no charge. In difficult cases we will offer a cost per day to keep bulls longer. If you need to take delivery of your bulls later than March 15th call Gray to arrange a plan. Customers who makes arrangements to take their animals home on sale day will be issued a credit of $150 per bull for our 2024 sale. Please note that transferring cattle across some state lines can require additional testing and time.
Liability & Risk:
All persons who attend this sale do so at their own risk. Twin Falls Livestock Commission, Superior Livestock, Star Gate Cattle, and all sale personnel assume no liability in the event of an accident.
All bulls are protected under the stipulations in our 4-Year-Warranty. Any event outside those outlined in said warranty is the responsibility of the buyer and their insurance.
All females are checked by a licensed veterinarian to establish overall health, age and reproductive status. We stand behind these females to be just as they are advertised.
All animals become the liability of the buyer at time of sale.

VIEWING THE AUCTION
The auction will be broadcast online at Bid.SuperiorLivestock.com and the pre-recorded videos will also be hosted there. You do not need an account just to watch the auction or view videos of the sale offering.
ONLINE BIDDING
Go to Bid.SuperiorLivestock.com for Superior’s new online bidding platform. If you have not registered there before you will need to create an account. The first time you register an account you will receive a confirmation e-mail that you must click on. Once you have completed this, select the auction you would like to bid on and click the “Request a Buyer Number” button. The first time you request a buyer number you will be sent a confirmation code via text. Enter that code in the login portal and you will receive a buyer number. This 2-step verification process will only have to be done once and in the future you will be able to simply login and request a buyer number and receive it instantly for any auction. Once you have successfully registered and received a buyer number it will show your name and buyer number on both the video preview page and the online bidding page when you are logged in. If you have an account at LiveAuctions.tv you may skip the registration process and use those login credentials to request a buyer number as LiveAuctions is a division of Superior Livestock. TURN IN BIDS OVER THE PHONE
This is Superior’s traditional method of buying cattle and is the suggested process for anybody who does not have consistent, high-speed internet. You still must register an account at Bid.SuperiorLivestock.com and request a buyer number. Once you receive a buyer number you will see the bid line phone number. Just watch the auction online and call in at least 2 lots ahead of the lot you are looking to bid on. A Superior Livestock representative will be with you on the phone and will assist you in placing bids.
