Quantity surveyors manage the costs and budget of construction and civil projects from the outset to completion. Therefore, you will ensure the costs of the project do not exceed the budget.

What are the main duties:

– More of an officebased work environment

– Managing the finances of a multimillion-pound project

– Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients

– Helping to ensure the financial success of a project

– Paying subcontractors and managing budgets for packages of works

– Becoming an expert in contracts, financial management and contract law

Construction Site Management

Construction Site Managers deal with the day-to-day running of a construction project from start to finish and are responsible for overseeing timely project progress and client satisfaction.

What are the main duties:

– Day to day responsibility for delivering a project

– Working outside on a live project environment

– Front line management of people and resources

– Managing health, safety, and quality control

– Co-ordinating sub-contractors and suppliers

– Working on projects such as schools, hospitals, office, and commercial buildings
