BuildingInformationModellingpolicystatement
Keltbray recognise the significant benefits that Building Information Modelling (BIM) offers to the construction industry. Our BIM policy reflects our commitment to harnessing digital innovation, collaboration, and efficiency to deliver high-quality projects for our clients. This policy sets out our approach to BIM implementation and its integration into our processes.
Key Principles:
1. BIM Integration: BIM will be integrated into all relevant projects, from the planning stage through to construction and facility management. We strive to make BIM an integral part of our workflow to enhance collaboration and data-driven decision-making.
2. Standardized BIM Protocols: We will establish and adhere to standardized BIM protocols, ensuring consistency in data exchange, model development, and file formats. This standardization enhances project communication and interoperability.
3. Collaboration and Team Training: Our teams will be trained to effectively utilize BIM tools and methodologies. Collaborative working practices will be promoted to ensure seamless information sharing among all project stakeholders.
4. BIM Level of Detail (LOD): We will define the required Level of Detail (LOD) for BIM models at different project stages, aligning them with industry best practices and client requirements. This ensures that the level of information provided is appropriate for each project phase.
5. Data Security and Integrity: We will implement robust data security measures to protect sensitive project information. Regular backups and data management protocols will be in place to ensure data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
6. BIM Execution Plan (BEP): A comprehensive BIM Execution Plan (BEP) will be developed for each project, detailing the BIM requirements, roles, responsibilities, and deliverables. The BEP will be regularly reviewed and updated as needed.
7. Continuous Improvement: We are committed to continuous improvement in our BIM practices. Lessons learned from each project will be captured and applied to subsequent projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
8. Client Engagement: We will engage with clients to identify their BIM requirements and tailor our approach to meet their specific needs. Regular communication and collaboration will ensure client satisfaction with BIM deliverables.
9. Industry Compliance: Our BIM practices will adhere to relevant UK industry standards, including those set by the UK BIM Framework (e.g., ISO 19650). We will stay up-to-date with emerging BIM guidelines and best practices.
By implementing this BIM policy, Keltbray aims to lead the way in embracing digital transformation and elevating construction processes. We believe that BIM will revolutionize the industry, driving efficiency, cost savings, and sustainable construction practices, ultimately benefiting our clients and enhancing project outcomes.
Keltbray and its management team fully support this policy and are committed to provide competent personnel and financial resources to implement it.
