Notes: Favourite Colour: White & Mint Green (Describes him a bit or what he shows to make “Visible” about himself-Colours could be Metaphors) Skates & Worked with Skate Shop on Printing (Screen printing) Quiet/Not social Outgoing (Not in a rude way) = Observant, more of a Listener

This Logo was created on classmate “Robert Learmouth” chosen at Random by tutors and the brief mains outline was to create a Graphic Identity involving no photographs that you felt represented what you found out about the person chosen to make a logo on through the ancient art of Conversation. Through A couple of hours conversation with Rob with questions asked like “If you was a Line, how would u look like?”, “If you was a fabric what fabric would you be?”, “Whats ur dream job?”, “Who would u say Influences you and why?” and “what’s your Favourite shape?” and talking about skateboarding. I took Notes and highlighted what I felt would be useful in creating a Logo to visual represent Graphics student Robert Learmouth. With the logo containg Robs Classic Simplistic feel, Mental Connection to his father, Sci-fi influces (Harry Potter Fan), His Observentness and overall Simplistic yet classic with a sense of history Style of doing things the logo repersented

Trouble with Self expression at Times - Stutter Favourites: Shape - Upside down slightly curved Triangle (Similar shape = Shield & shield could be a metaphor for him being Quiet) Artist: Mr bingo, Michael Sieben Skaters: Stefan Janoski, Devon Rider Place to live: Vancouver Favourite Band Logos: Kasabian, Roiling stone lips Dream Job: Book designer for Penguin/Designing Book covers Plays football frequently, Plays Defence position (Go with Shield Idea) Way Of dress says to me: Simplistic, Classic, Presentable Feels he Looks like Karl Pilkington Mentally Feels older than he is Into the “Greats” in Music (Rolling Stones, The Beatles, John Lennon)-CLASSIC Influenced by father heavily who works in Architecture (“Design/ Creativity runs in Blood”) If he was a Line he would be: Straight but jagged at the end If he was a Material he would be: Grey corduroy OR Tweed (CLAAAAAAAAAAAASIC) BRAND ME UP BUTTERCUP

20THE WING OF A BEE

The idea behind creating my full colour wing of a bee that had some conceptal meaning to it was it to have it express Love and how it can’t be contained and crosses through all possible “boundaries”, and the particular in this case being race. My wing depicting a black woman holding a white mans hand lovengly how a couple would shows and expresses this.

3 THE PERFECT CRIME

With my perfect crime being based on the idea of making a girl in our graphics class fall in love with you (which is why the title “stealing her heart”) I immediately thought to show the steps in a informative/instructional way showing the descriptive steps or stages as clear as possible. I also imagined this being in one of those magazines that boast to know more about Life, love and the opposite sex than you do and ever will and this being ripped out by a male and put in their wallet to actually go by which made me focus on some of the words making some words bigger than others to highlight the point of the steps, almost like people in advertising would do to lure people into their product. Typographical using the font “Walbaum Roman Bold” for the main body text and the Numbers gave it a sense

of Elegancely and the use of the colour red in the title and numbers to express Love tastefully without any obvious cliché uses of love hearts or Cupid and also this to adds a sense of anonymity to it which adds that extra “What is this exactly?” Factor, which when you do you find out its this slightly funny, unfunny, dark, conniving yet unbelievably-believable way to get the heart of the girl you want in the Graphics Group 2 class.

THE PERFECT CRIME

Purely Typographic

Conceptual

With this idea I wanted to say alot while saying nothing at all and achieved by focusing paticully on the aspect of a letter rather then them in a combination making up a word. i feel Using the “Didot” K gave it a sense of elegance and simplicity but relatebility and slutyness with the colors used that I feel works and makes this Inviting.

This idea was about skateboards being billboards as they are almost displayed like ads are in public in skate shops and this being a moving piece of advertising that’s as visible as the owner of the board wants it to be kinda goes against the idea of Advertising which relates to slightly to skating “F-u” attitude.

24SKATE OR DIE

Purely Decrotive

Pro Model

This idea was about taking an 80’s ish concept with the colors used and the “vvvvvvvv” shape going done the board and do it in a digital which I felt gave it more of a Contempary feel.

This Pro model made for fellow Graphics student Tasha Tedstill “Shark Was Wearing Pink Lipstick” Board is kinda a inside joke and idea that came to me after looking in the Metro and seeing the Photo of The sharks resembling the Famous picture of the Kray twins and instantly thinking of Tasha becuase of something she had told me that will never leave my mind about sharks wearing liptick. These sharks look pretty sexy with lipstick on if you ask me.

These live drawings done at Hackney City Farm & Spitalfields Market were done with different colour sharpie Markers, which I felt would give the drawings a rough yet a true and actual representation of a live drawing. Overall drawing the animals was eventful to say the least with them not being the best live models to draw as telling a rooster to please stand still just gets you a intimidating look.

I achieved this by for the most part by either digitising the live drawings fully or adding simple graphic elements like Circles, Lines and Type which I felt gave them the Simple yet Significant and expressive look that had a sense of character to them which is what I originally attended for these Outcomes.

JOKE SHOP

This brief being the freest task set which was just simply to do something you haven’t done before and document it, I explored a avenue in photography I’ve always been interested in which was Moving image/Videography using a HD Flipcam, my keen eye for things and Nature as my tripod. I filmed things which I felt I would take pictures of as a photographer like a tree being pushed gracefully by the wind, A dogs leash being untied from a lamppost, seeing a child run while going down a escalator and a traffic light changing while people cross the road. The soundtrack being “Footprints” by Jazz artist Wayne Shorter not only matched the content but added a calm, free and mellow feel to the footage taken across the week this took shoot.

46GOALSCORER

I designed this in the context of this being a Poster that someone would or could stick on their wall which I feel relates to the whole personal goal setting aspect of this project. I chose the focal part of this to be a Fingerprint because excluding personality or body modifications the coolest thing about you in the sense that it’s totally unique to YOU and what Nobody else has is your Finger Print.

48 IM GAME

My board game called “36 clicks a dice game based in the life of a third year graphic design student with a social life and demanding girlfriend, the game consists of 4 opponents trying to get to the top of the graphic design world which is the middle of the board in this case. Getting around the board successfully once and taking the steps to the middle to win the game but every time you land on a coloured spot of the board you must take a card, which directs you on what to do next before trying to make your way around the board successfully.

48MCSTACK

The breif being to draw 10 McDonalds Cheeseburgers in coloured pencil on A2 Paper, the obvious seriousness and delicateniss of this brief I took this very very seriously as I saw this benfiting me strongly in the future and felt accomplished after sitting in McDonalds drawing 10 stacked cheeseburgers with Jamal, Matt and his ever so Lovely Girlfriend Joe that ate my Girkins ( Pun Intened ;) ).

52TOO SWEET

With the brief simply being to invent and design a wrapper for a sweet I came up with the idea of making a sweet that not only was just a sweet but something that had some sort of meaning and be of help to people like Graphic Designers, Typographers or anyone interested in typefaces. The sweet coming in a pocket sized box package filled with o shaped flavoured hard boiled sweets of the typeface displayed on the front of the box and a brief description of the typeface and its use, the year it was created and anything else I felt would be helpful.

54BLAZING BIOGRAPHIES!

The person given to me at random was Michael Horsham who is a Graphic designer, Animator, Director, Writer, Musician, Lecturer, Teacher and Book Editor. What I found interesting about him was throughout Michaels work I sensed that all his work was simple but very fitting and effective. With this in mind I came up with many simple but effective ideas and came to choose the idea I found most interesting which was making Album artwork out off Rubbish/things you would find in a bin like stickers found on food, Food packaging, junk mail & plastic bags and CD packaging out off A4 paper.

BLAZING BIOGRAPHIES!

56JAZZ BAND

My “Sizookyki Shaker instrument consisting of two full pot noodle pots glued with a glue gun with a ethnic inspired pattern created to match the ethnic nature I wanted to come with my instrument. Held by the handles being string tied around the top of the pots or simply holding the top of the instrument made my instrument easy & simple to use, shaking it to create the sound.
