ARCHITECTURAL EDUCATION IN 21ST CENTURY ASIA
£112
New Asian architects must be able of finding new design languages, expressions, new geometries within new working methods capable of engaging in trans-disciplinary discourses and be able to inspire the masses of people at all levels of society to the new future Asia will lead globally. To do this, this book advocates and calls attention to learning basic skills lost in the context of rapid urbanisation and distortions caused to deep Asian civilizational values. In this process, the fostering of relevant attitudes through empowering our Asian architecture students is of the utmost importance. There are many examples of such empowerment in this book. 250pp 978-981-4417-76-1

Volume 5: Fluid Flow in Porous Media
This book presents, in a self-contained form, the equations of fluid flow in porous media, with a focus on topics and issues that are relevant to petroleum reservoir engineering. No prior knowledge of the field is assumed on the part of the reader, and particular care is given to careful mathematical and conceptual development of the governing equations, and solutions for important reservoir flow problems. Fluid Flow in Porous Media starts with a discussion of permeability and Darcy’s law, then moves on to a careful derivation of the pressure diffusion equation. Solutions are developed and discussed for flow to a vertical well in an infinite reservoir, in reservoirs containing faults, in bounded reservoirs, and to hydraulically fractured wells.

JOURNAL OF THEORETICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL ACOUSTICS (JTCA)
http://www.worldscientific.com/jtca About JTCA: Aims & Scope The aim of this journal is to provide an international forum for the dissemination of the state-ofthe-art information in the field of Computational Acoustics.
Topics covered by this journal include Check out the research and tutorial contributions in FREE articles OCEAN ACOUSTICS (a subject of online! active research in relation with sonar detection and the design of noiseless ships), SEISMO-ACOUSTICS (of concern to earthquake science and engineering, and also to those doing underground prospection like searching for petroleum), AEROACOUSTICS (which includes the analysis of noise created by aircraft), COMPUTATIONAL METHODS, and SUPERCOMPUTING. In addition to the traditional issues and problems in computational methods, the journal also considers theoretical research acoustics papers which lead to largescale scientific computations. The journal strives to be flexible in the type of high quality papers it publishes and their format. Equally desirable are Full papers, which should be complete and relatively self-contained original contributions with an introduction that can be understood by the broad computational acoustics community. Both rigorous and heuristic styles are acceptable. Of particular interest are papers about new areas of research in which other than strictly computational arguments may be important in establishing a basis for further developments. Tutorial review papers, covering some of the important issues in Computational Mathematical Methods, Scientific Computing, and their applications. Short notes, which present specific new results and techniques in a brief communication.
14
The journal will occasionally publish significant contributions which are larger than the usual format for regular papers. Special issues which report results of high quality workshops in related areas and monographs of significant contributions in the Series of Computational Acoustics will also be published.
