Stay hydrated - Drink plenty of water or sports drinks; don't wait until you're thirsty
Limit time outside - Limit your time outside to mornings and evenings if possible
Take a golf cart - Take a cart on hot days.
Watch for signs of heat stroke: - Hot, red dry or damp skin - Fast, strong pulse - Headache - Dizziness - Nausea - No longer sweating - Confusion
Dear Member,
July has arrived and summer is in full swing June was a busy month on the golf course with Tuesday Night Men’s League, Men’s Invitational Tournament, PGA Junior League, Junior Golf Camp, Ladies Operation 36, and Ladies Game Night.
In other areas around the club, Camp Holly Hills began which provides participants a fun variety of activities throughout the week including swim, golf, tennis and arts and crafts Our first Summer Concert Series event on the back lawn was fantastic; the band was great, and the weather was perfect.
The pool has been busy and our swim team, the Holly Hills Hurricanes, hosted and won their first home meet of the season in June against the Urbana Crabs, and also won against the PVYA River Rapids Thank you to all the parents and volunteers who helped prepare the pool for the meet It is a tremendous amount of work relocating furniture, removing the diving boards, setting up tents and getting the snacks and drinks ready which all gets undone.
As we continue to improve your experience at the club, I am asking for your help to make it even better by doing the following:
Please be sure to register in the golf shop before heading on to the golf course It is important for us to know who is on the course at all times.
During your round, remember to replace or refill divots, repair your ball marks on the greens, rake the bunkers, remove broken tees from the teeing areas Use trashcans on the course for garbage, including cigar and cigarette butts on the ground and be sure to observe all cart rules
and your guests in and follow rules and any special instructions from the lifeguard staff Before you depart, please discard all trash
As the heat builds and summer continues, remember to use sunblock regularly and keep yourselves hydrated with plenty of water.
I look forward to seeing you around the club.
Mike Barrett, CGCS General Manager

Dear Member,
Summer is officially here! With the hot weather approaching, the golf shop staff kindly reminds everyone to please stay hydrated while out on the golf course. Please visit one of the restaurant areas in the clubhouse for bottles of water or Gatorade before your round, and use the water cooler stations on the golf course.
We also ask that, after your round, you stop in front of the golf shop or the bag drop area to allow our outside service attendants to better service you and provide you with the experience you deserve Our outside service team works very hard during the summer months ensuring the carts are stocked with tees, scorecards, pencils, towels and full sand bottles They also make sure all areas of the cart are clean before use, in addition to keeping all of our practice facilities clean and ready for use.
The attendants will clean your clubs before and after the round, get them loaded and unloaded at the bag drop, so you can focus on getting the car ready, or enjoy the rest of your afternoon at the club at our Lounge, Grill or practice facilities. When possible, please show them your appreciation for all their hard work
With several events for both men and women remaining throughout the year, please check our tournament calendar under “Golf Event Registration” on your ForeTees app. For questions about an event or how to register, please reach out to a member of the Pro Shop staff
We invite all members to stop in the golf shop to see our variety of merchandise Fresh clothing drops from Greyson, RLX, Straight Down & Turtleson are arriving throughout the season We are also excited to announce that Johnnie-O is back in the golf shop Stop in to check out our new bathing suits and polos We also have new colors of tumblers and Holly Hills sweatshirts, perfect for swim team or days at the pool. With a wide variety of products, we can be seen more as a gift shop than a golf shop. Be sure to follow our Friday golf emails and Instagram & Facebook posts to see sale information and new products. Stop in, beat the heat and say hello.
We hope to see everyone on the golf course soon!
