Frieda Restaurant pays homage to Frieda Kempinski, the only daughter of Berthold and Helene, who grew up in the entrepreneurial, warm and welcoming environment of her parents’ delicatessen. In a casual dining atmosphere, Frieda Restaurant serves relaxed German cuisine with a modern twist. Now open at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore. Opening soon in Hangzhou and Nanjing, China.

The M. Kempinski & co. wine restaurant opened in Berlin in 1872. It soon became popular for its huge selection of the best quality wine and seasonal delicacies like oysters, crayfish, and caviar. The Kempinskis introduced fixed price full and half portions, with wine by the glass, which made fine dining affordable for berlin’s middle-classes. soon they expanded to Haus Vaterland on Potsdamer Platz, which comprised 12 restaurants. each was themed to the cuisine of a different country.
