Alternative Spring Break: Be part of a service trip during your spring break. You’ll travel somewhere new and do valuable volunteer work.

Clinical Experiences: Prepare for a career in health care with hospital- and clinic-based learning experiences.

Course-Based Projects: Do a class project with practical applications in partnership with local corporations and nonprofit organizations.

UWM is nationally recognized for undergraduate research, and students meaningfully contribute to their field from day one. About half of UWM students graduate with research experience, which can involve data gathering, interviewing and analysis. Many research opportunities are paid positions. Students also forge strong mentorships with professors.

in all disciplines develop the creativity and know-how to advance

HONORS COLLEGE

Students in the Honors College enjoy the personalized education of a small liberal arts college with the resources of a large research university. Students attend discussion-based Honors College seminars along with their regular UWM classes to earn an honors degree. Research, study abroad and independent projects further customize the Honors College experience. STUDY ABROAD

UWM offers 170 study abroad programs each year across all disciplines. Study abroad for a few weeks in summer or UWinteriM, for a semester or for an academic year. Options include faculty-led programs, where you travel abroad in a study group with a UWM faculty member; exchange programs, where you attend a university abroad and take classes there; and internships.
