Welcome To The 5thannual Riverside Angus Bull Sale

On behalf of everyone here at Riverside Angus we would like to personally invite you to our 5th Annual Sale.

To say we are excited about this year’s sale is a huge understatement we are extremely proud of the depth and consistency with this group of bulls. We have added some different genetics to the herd with AI’ing a select group of cows and adding our own Embryo calves to the group, we are also very fortunate to have top end walking herd sires with the cows.

Our two main walking herd sires are Six Mile Crossfire 460F, Crossfire has been in heavy use the last 2 seasons we are currently calving our 2nd group of heifers sired by Crossfire, his daughters are very docile, beautiful udders (any of you that know me know I put a lot of merit into udder structure and quality) and exhibit tons of style and eye appeal.

The other bull to see extensive use here is LLB Brady 584G we calved our first group of Brady’s daughters this year, we are extremely happy with this very maternal group of young females. They all have incredible feet and transitioned into the role of momma cow very easily.

New this year to the sale we will have 5 Red Angus Bulls on offer. The fall of 2021 we made the decision to add to the few red females Logan already had. We are very excited to have added a group of cows from Six Mile Red Angus herd Reduction Sale, as well as a cow from the LLB reduction sale. These females were hand picked based on confirmation and genetics. They have produced both an amazing set of bull calves, and an equally remarkable set of replacement heifer calves.

Another exciting sale feature is we are opening the replacement heifer pen and offering six top end females. This is something we have never done; but we finally feel we have enough depth throughout the group we can part with a few.

We continue to pay close attention to foot and udder structure, disposition, calving ease, balanced with performance also.

The bulls are raised on a mixed ration of barley/pea silage, straw, a malt barley pellet, barley and a pre mixed mineral package that is custom made to meet all their health requirements.

We are very pleased with how the bulls have steadily gained through out the winter not being pushed to hard, so they maintain longevity for you our customers.

As always, the bulls we be semen tested and vaccinated prior to the sale and come with a full health guarantee.

We are also excited to have Dersta Farms joining us with there offering of Red Yearlings.

This bull has been a favorite since he was born. Out of a first calf heifer, he came out at 81 lbs and weaned of with an adjusted WW of 895. His dam then bred back first cycle. 96K’s dam is an attractive JMB Traction daughter that has a near perfect udder. A heifer bull option sired by LLB Brady, backed by a daughter of the Connealy Consensus we walked from South Shadow. Everyone in the Angus community knows what Consensus can do on the female side of a pedigree. Brady was the high selling yearling bull at LLB’s bull sale in 2020. We selected Brady because of his calving ease, growth and hard to find foot structure. Brady has passed these traits onto his progeny, his calves come out easy and grow like weeds.

Crossfire continues to impress us. Not only has he sired an amazing set of females over the last 2 years, but this year’s bull offering is also next to none. He has an impressive set of EPDS and an outstanding phenotype. Crossfire stands on a near perfect foot which gives him the ability to travel with ease. If you are looking for a bull to sire you a very uniformed group of replacements, I am confident any one of these Crossfire sons will work. This past fall our show string was again filled with Crossfire daughter’s that were very well received. I can’t say enough about these females. They have all calved with beautiful udders, and excellent maternal traits. This is truly one of the most exciting sire groups of heifers to ever calve here at Riverside.

We can’t say enough about this bull. 30K has tons of length, lots of rib shape and an extended front third. We can’t wait to see the first set of steers out of this bull, and the females out of 30K without a doubt will be excellent. 30K is out of our pick of the mature cows at the Riverbend dispersal. Unfortunately, we lost 30K’s dam late last summer and he still managed to wean off with an adjusted WW of 810.

Here is one of our favorites in the pen this year. A strong herd sire prospect with lots of extra muscle and an extended front third. 88K’s dam is one of the best young cows in the herd, she has a fantastic udder and can easily compete with the mature cows at weaning time. Her first two calves weaned off with an average WW Ratio of 109.

In the spring of 2021, we had the opportunity to see the Bag of Chips bull when we were delivering Riverside Payweight 29H, the high selling bull that Lazy MC purchased in our 2021 sale. We decided to use a few straws of semen out of him on some of our young productive cows, as he had a complete outcross pedigree for us. This resulted in 111K, a bull we have loved since day one. 111K has always had a cocky neck extension and lots of muscle all throughout his body. He is full of red meat and has always stood at the top of the pen for his growth and appearance. 111K stands on a perfect foot. His dam has an excellent udder.
