A Day in the Life of a SignWorld Owner
If you’re considering starting a SignWorld business, you’ve probably spent some time looking at the investment requirements as well as reading up on the business model. But you’re probably also wondering what your life might be like as a Signworld owner. While the possibilities are truly endless, we’ve taken the liberty of putting together what a day in the life a SignWorld owner might look like.
Morning motivation Joe awakens to his favorite song being played on his radio alarm. Back when he was merely a cog in someone else’s corporate wheel, he probably would have hit the snooze button at least two or three times. But working in his own business has motivated Joe – he feels a new sense of purpose and he is taking control of his own destiny. He gets ready for the day and heads out to Joe’s Signs – his office located in a nearby industrial park.
Talented people and a great network When Joe arrives at his office, he is greeted by Tim. Tim is a bright young college student who works for Joe part time. When Joe first opened his company, it was just himself and Tim but due to the recent increase in business, he has decided to take on some extra help. Joe plans on hiring another full time employee early next year. It feels good to know that he is starting to help other individuals and families by offering others regular employment. Today Joe and Tim will be participating in a SignWorld webinar in which they will learn about some of the latest industry trends as well as network with other SignWorld owners from all over the United States and Canada. Joe can’t believe how many talented people he has met and befriended through this process. SignWorld owners come from diverse backgrounds but all share the common goal building the best businesses they can while supporting and encouraging each other.
A creative outlet One of the things that Joe loves best about owning a SignWorld business is the fact that every order is different and the work allows him to use his and his staff’s creativity and craftsmanship to develop high quality signage for his customers. Joe’s attention to even the smallest details have earned him several repeat customers ranging from an auto body shop to a women’s fashion outlet, to a local fish and chips joint. Today Joe will be working on a hanging banner advertising a special on winter tires, some signage for a customer appreciation night at the fashion outlet, and custom wall graphics for the fish and chips place. Surprisingly though, Joe did not have any sign making experience when he started with SignWorld. What he did have was an outgoing personality that helped him build his customer base and a great work
ethic that allowed him to get his business off the ground. SignWorld took care of all the technical training and Joe was producing high quality signs in no time.
Personal freedom Later in the afternoon, Joe leaves the office early so he can coach his son’s football team – which he does every Thursday. Today Tim is able to stay and cover the last hour and a half of the business day. This was not the case, however last week when Tim had to leave the office early. But that didn’t stop Joe from getting to football practice – he simply closed the office early and made sure his regular customers knew he wouldn’t be available at that time. Joe would have never had that kind of freedom at his day job, but he is sure glad he has it now. Every day in the life of a SignWorld owner is different. Some days are great and others are stressful. But every day can end with a sense of accomplishment and pride in the business you are building. See more at: http://signworld.org/a-day-in-the-life-of-a-signworld-owner/
