The River Monastery emerges from nature as not only a social condenser for monks but a destination for the city inhabitants. Because of its verticality, each floor is divided to satisfy the necessities of a monastery as well as encourage interaction between the monks. The monastery is placed stategically to line up orthogonally to a certain gathering space in the city. 2

Space exists in many dimensions, whether it occupies a boundary within a structure or it flows freely in the atmosphere. Throughout the site, the space between interior and exterior becomes blurred where little pockets of courtyards are positioned central to the units of a building, not only allowing a circulation of air but also people. The courtyards are then taken into a larger scale where it is applied throughout the whole block.
