Find Your Voice. Welcome to the Department of Theatre & Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University. Our department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre & Performance Studies with concentrations in acting, performance studies, design/technology, and musical theatre. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, we strive to cultivate students as scholar-artists who embrace the marriage of research, analysis, and the creation of socially relevant theatre and performance. Together, our courses and an innovative production season provide multiple opportunities for you to create, witness, and critique performances ranging from dramatic and musical scripts to literary and folk traditions, original ethnographic field research, contemporary movement, improvisation, and solo performance work. Our location in the metro Atlanta area ensures dynamic partnerships with professional theatre and performance organizations that offer real-world experiences for you. Inherent within our program is an ardent commitment to local and global learning opportunities that promote engaged citizenship.

I would go as far as to say it’s the strongest theatre program in Georgia. The fact that many professors are also professionals in the theatre field serves to strengthen the program further. It’s not just theory, it’s application too. - Maged Roushdi, student
