You're so golden

Presidents letter Hey there! Hope everyone is getting ready for winter break and has had a great school year so far! I'm so glad we had an incredible turn out at our Walk for Water (over $500!!) and that we have had consistent attendance at our bi-weekly meetings. I'm excited to come back to Key Club after winter break and see all of you at our meetings again and to continue to do geat community service and fundraisers, as well as finally elect our class representatives for the rest of the school year! Thanks to everyone who continues to participate in our club by joining our community service and our meetings. You make this club as amazing as it is and I'm so glad I get to be your president! We have more fun service opportunities planned for the future, so stay tuned :)

In Love And Service, Alicia Ballesteros-Mitchell

Editors letter Heyy key-uties! Hope you're all doing well and thriving. Besides working on stuff for key club and school, ive been spending a lot of time playing Minecraft and crying over movies on Netflix. If you have Netflix you should definitely watch "over the moon". Its hecka good, I legit cried. If you guys have any recommendations for any shows or movies on Netflix definitely hit me up and let me know. Anyways the theme I did for this newsletter is kind of like a winter colors vibe... I don't really know I just thought the animals on the front cover was cute so I just rolled with it. But I really do hope you guys enjoy this newsletter, along with spending the holiday's with your family. I know how hard times have been lately but dont be afraid to hit me up on my socials. I honestly do want to know each of you better and hopefully build a friendship with you guys : )

In Love And Service, Jayla Reyes

Past

events Walk For Water

In order to raise awareness and money for Thirst Project, we held a virtual walkathon. Those who participated walked, ran, biked or skated 3.75 miles, which is the average distance people in water scarce communities walk daily. The outcome of the fundraiser turned out greater than we could've imagined! We raised over 500 dollars, which brings us halfway towards our year goal. So huge thanks to everyone who participated, raised awareness and or money. We couldn't have done it without each and every one of you. If we keep this momentum going we surely will reach our 1000 dollar goal before the end of the year!

upcoming

events Blanket Making

One upcoming event is a no sew blanket making. We have done this event in the past during one of the club meeting's and it was super fun. Plus it was nice to know that the blankets we made was being donated to someone who needed it. Overall, it is a very fun and easy task that makes you feel good in the end. More info to come later but you should defintly participate when it does happen.

Reminders

Dues

If you haven't already please pay your dues. It is important to do so if you want to be an official member of Key Club and or run for the officer board later in the year. You can do this by going to "online payment" on the Kentlake website and paying the $14 Key Club fee. Once done email your receipt to Mareena (mareenapan@gmail.com or SN340300@kent.k12.wa.us) and complete the membership registration form on the key club website If you need due fees waived due to financial need, contact an officer directly and we will work with you to waive the cost

Pictures Every year our club makes a scrapbook for DCON, we need more photos for it. So please throughout the year send in photos from events and fundraisers we either hold or attend. Also if you have pictures from previous events like walkathon and or where you placed your sticker from the thirst fundraiser please send them to Jayla.

Committees

If you want to be more involved in Key Club without having to be an officer, you should definitely join a committee. There is four committees, community service, thirst project, fundraising and scrapbook. If you're interested in any fill out the interest form (bit.ly/KLcommitteeinterest). You can also find it in our club's website

Class Rep.

Do you want to ensure that the needs and wants of your class is heard in our club? If so, you should become a liaison by being a class representative for your class. Elections for class representative will be held soon. So please have a speech ready (less than 5 minutes)

If you're interested fill out the interest form (http://bit.ly/KLcommitteeinterest). You can also find it in our club's website

If you have any questions about any of these feel free to hit up an officer or any of our key club accounts. We'll be more than happy to help you
