Sara Johnson
Sara Johnson is a senior at the University of Alabama majoring in Community Arts & Photography. Originally from Tampico, Mexico, she spent most of her life growing up in Dallas, Texas. She moved to Tuscaloosa after receiving a Presidential Scholarship for being a National Hispanic Scholar. Sara has been interning at Kentuck for the past two years as a photographer and office assistant.
In my work, I seek to find new or unusual ways of interpreting the ordinary, often pulling my subjects out of their original context to help rid them of the preconceived notions they carry. For this series I have explored a ((seemingly) simple) subject which offers flexibility and endless possibilities. This series aims to explore those possibilities and show a new perspective which opens the door to freer interpretation. I hope to expose the extraordinary that can be found in our everyday lives when we look at things in a new light.
