In this daring collection, customers will experience a bohemian journey narrated through new innovative shapes, creative sheepskin applications, rich colors and fabric, and the return of several updated favorites. This impressive gathering is a clear indication of the brand’s evolving design strength, providing customers once again with unique interpretations of classic styles that differ from the rest. The reveal of this fashionably diverse collection adheres to the brand’s intrepid vision of offering a truly distinct luxury footwear line with stylish options for every type of global trendsetter. The collection ($155 to $425 MSRP) will debut on Koolaburra.com and in select retail locations beginning July/August 2013. Inspired by the pursuit of adventure, Koolaburra’s Creative Director, Kris Zacharias, recounts treks through landscapes both real and imagined to create a collection that explores moods, time, and geography. The collection is broken into four key design stories: Rustic Romance, Tribal Tundra, Decadent Desert, and Melodic Metropolis. Themes within each story weave throughout the collection as both materials and shapes create a fluid path of cohesiveness. With this new season, Zacharias invites customers on a unconventional voyage: trekking through an unexplored winter forest, time traveling to a chivalrous medieval moment, exploring untouched badlands, navigating a bustling metropolis in the rain, all the while accompanied by a soundtrack that heightens the senses in each surrounding. New silhouettes shine in AW13, including creative new versions of their hi-top sneaker wedge decorated with cozy sporty styled accents, as well as fringed platform moccasins, cowboy wedges, and suede desert boots to take center stage. The full assortment breaks new ground with ballerina flats, stacked leather heels, ankle booties, and laced oxford wedges that showcase design elements from each mood in a range of rich colors like “Throne Red,” “Monk Brown,” and “Sapphire Ice.” Koolaburra’s signature Australian Grade-A sheepskin sees an infusion of luxurious new materials, including a rich “Black Tapestry” fabric, a “Tribal Embroidery” knit and an original Koolaburra “Geo-Deco” canvas print. Upholding the brand’s boho-chic heritage, the line includes an assortment of rustic and romantic inspired details and treatments, such as hand-sewn stitching, brogue detailing, branded conchos, and creative wax seal studded accents. "I believe that product creation is akin to a journey,” reflects Zacharias. “Moments during a journey may propel you in an unintended direction and more often than not are remembered fondly. For AW13, I wanted to pay homage to journeys both real and imagined by incorporating antique embellishments, tapestries, hand-sewn details, futuristic snow joggers, moon boots in bright colors, rustic desert boots, and rugged tundra details to capture a sense of adventure and wanderlust.”
