Explorations of the Female Mind Article by Lisa Mugera

You know how as women we’re encouraged to believe that we are delicate, feminine, soft and all the other sweet words that society likes to program in us? Well... there’s other stuff that WE also ARE. And would appreciate it if the men in our lives knew too.

01

We don’t like to reveal our age Why you ask? Because we don’t want to grow old. We like to imagine that we’re forever young or that we’ll have smooth skin like Tina Turner when we turn 70 and that a cute passer-by will cat-call and ask us out on a date.

04

But we dont all like chocolates... ... or flowers... or what your mother used to cook you for breakfast. So get to know us first before you go ahead spending money on stuff we’ll probably cringe about when our girlfriends give us the ‘he-bought-you-THAT’ look.

02

We all want to be called ‘Woman’ Because it sounds powerful and humbling. In the African culture (and the bible), the woman is defined as ‘nurturing’, ‘all-knowing’, ‘to be emulated’ and ‘respected’. We all want to BE that woman and to FEEL like a woman. Try it tonight with bae, tell her “You’re such a Woman,” (remember to place emphasis on the word ‘woman’) and see how she’ll react.

05

We get horny Alot. We just keep it to ourselves. Well, the catty ones will say it out loud. But the rest of us will keep it to ourselves. Not that we lack the guts to, but only because we’ve been conditioned to believe that it’s unladylike to open up about ‘such stuff’. Oh yea, we masturbate too – a lot. Apparently about 92% of women do.

03

We want you to be more aware of our menstruation dates Not to torture men. But for you guys to get over your fears of ‘the flow’. So the next time a woman says she’s on her pees or cramping, please get her a box of chocolate and a day off. Trust me. It’s a heavy storm down there. Literally.

06

Speaking of which, we only shave ‘down there’ when we’re getting some - Regularly I mean, let’s face it, no one wants a puffy itchy vadge. So we grow our hair and we like it. Until we get a guy who prefers it short. Seriously though, women should be allocated our own version of ‘Movember month’.

07

We compare you to our Ex Depending on how you treat us. If you’re good to us, we’ll be loyal and pat ourselves on our backs because we totally ditched a loser and got a keeper. But if you’re mean to us, we’ll totally call our ex back and tell him how he was (and still is) the greatest lover we ever had to date.

08

Which brings me to why we want you to BE A MAN Every woman craves for the guy who goes ahead and just DOES IT. He doesn’t need to ask, he already KNOWS what we want. Dinner reservations, constant communication, gifts, unconditional praise and of course, good loving.

09

And while we’re at it... make us laugh for crissakes! Because you know what they say about a man who can make a woman laugh out loud, right? He can make her do Anything! And by ‘anything’, I mean ANY-THING. *wink!

It’s no wonder then, that Steve Harvey was spot on in his book ‘Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man’ when he said, “The only way a woman can truly be completely satisfied is to get herself four different men—an old one (for money), an ugly one (for praise), a Mandingo (for good-loving), and a gay guy (for shopping). Now the four of them combined? They got you covered.” For more articles visit ; http://www.kenyabuzz.com/lifestyle

9 Thoughtful Out of the Box Birthday Gift Ideas

Article by Wamuyu Kiragu

Birthday gifts need to be as special as the person you are celebrating, so go the extra mile when finding the perfect gift. Customized Wine Goblets If your beloved is a wino (winey?) then nothing beats a personalized wine goblet. It says, ‘Not only do I know you love wine, but I care enough about your indulgence to give you the perfect gift to enable it’. It’s sweet and speaks right to the heart.

Printed Quotes Witty or silly, deep or just plain goofy, find a quote you think your person would love. We all know our people’s favorites, whether from a movie, song, poem or speech. Get is artistically designed and printed on canvas or as a poster. An unforgettable gift.

02

Pizza Maker Do you sometimes suspect that your person is made of gooey, melty cheese and pizza sauce on the inside because of how much they love it? Then a pizza maker is an ideal birthday gift. Pizza at home, whenever they want it. It is the perfect pizza lover prezzie.

Gift Their Pet Instead We all know people who love their pets more than they do most people. The only way to get a place in their heart is with a great gift for their fur babies. A toy, treats too are great, but a cosy pet bed is sure to delight any pet parent.

04

A Day at the Spa Utterly indulgent, this gift allows your beloved to relax and unwind, something we could use a little bit more of. Find a spa with the kind of treatments you think they would enjoy. To make it a little more special, throw in a bottle of sparkling wine to drink during their session. Bliss!!

Sex Toys This is a gift that speaks for itself. A word of caution however, this should only be gifted to better halves and friends with whom you have some sort of understanding. Using this gift as a hint is ill advised and highly discouraged.

Open When Gifts While it may not cost much, this gift’s value is immeasurable. It can be a note with the feelings and thoughts that you’d like to share with them during their year. Seal them in an envelope with instructions on when to open it. A bottle of their favourite tipple is also a great option. Gift it to them on their special day but with instructions to open at a later birthday. Whatever your choice you’ll be winning with this one.

A Book of Discounts The DisCoucher book is Kenya’s first annual publication with exclusive ‘Get One Free’ discount vouchers to Kenyan restaurants, cafes, hotels, salons, spas ideal for family, friends, colleagues and loved ones. Get your discounted copy from Kenyabuzz.com

Cakes Needless to say while cakes are an obvious gift they always win your loved one’s heart. The trick is to customize to the individual’s taste and likes.
