Improvement Study

The purpose of the study improvements and traffic management for Gordon Street between Edinburgh Road and Lowes Road, and recommend a preferred alternative solution to address identified problems

Staff have recently focused on implementation of the speed limit reductions throughout the city.

City’s traffic engineering is building a road safety dashboard that will become available online soon. The dashboard will contain road safety related metrics, data, KPIs, and results.

• Route 19 was switched from On-demand to full service in May 2023

• From May 2023 to September 2023 – total boardings were 50,396 (average of 94 boardings per day)

• From September 2023 to October 2023 – total boardings were 10,654 (av. of 204 boardings per day)

• This is a growth of 120% since the extension was introduced

• Engage with the City of Guelph and other third parties to explore opportunities to enter into a maintenance agreement for parcels of land that can provide recreational or conservation opportunities.

Recommendation 2:

• Continue to advocate and promote partnership opportunities to manage and monitor the biodiversity and ecological systems within Niska.

Recommendation 3:

• Dispose of the 8 hectare parcel of land south of Niska Road identified as Agricultural Field B.
