FIRST OF THREE REPORTS TODAY: Delivering on the Levy. The district is proud to report our major building projects funded in the 2008 levy have been delivered on time and under budget. COMING AUGUST 13: Student testing. Last year’s ISAT scores were the highest the district has ever recorded — and superior to any public school serving the area. AUGUST 20: Student achievement. In academics, sports and overall achievement, students and teachers have nearly three dozen notable accomplishments.

Lake Pend Oreille School District patrons trusted their school district to carry out their wishes to expand Kootenai and Sagle elementary schools and implement a health and safety plan at all schools. The plant and facility levy approved by voters in May 2008 provided $14.1 million for those projects that have been completed on time and under budget. With the levy fulfilled, taxpayers will see a reduction in their tax bills this December. The projects are paid in full with no debt. Everyone at LPOSD thanks our patrons for extending their trust. Because the Kootenai and Sagle building projects were completed under budget, the district had remaining funds to improve other facilities, as the law allows. Sandpoint High, Farmin Stidwell Elementary and Sandpoint Middle schools received upgrades. The levy also provided resolution for health and safety issues at all schools, such as asbestos removal and new roofing.
