Undaunted Anglers – Fishing with Lewis and Clark

Page 1

Undaunted Anglers: Fishing with Lewis and Clark Two bold explorers, two wild rivers, one enterprising vision: To find a water route across the continent. Lewis and Clark’s 8,000 mile journey was a river expedition of epic proportions – and the grandest fishing trip of all time. As the Corps traveled farther westward, its fortunes became ever more entwined with fish. Fishing was a source of food, entertainment, and scientific discovery. It also provided clues to geography, aided in diplomacy, and served as a means of survival. In this exhibit we invite you to explore with Lewis and Clark the fish species of the West.
