ABOUT ME Kermit Liang is an architectural designer with 5 years of experience. He had worked in DLR Group which is a US design firm, in the last 5 years Kermit has worked closely with his team in projects at varies scales, majorly in culture, education, office building as well as performance art, his strength lies in pre-construction stages ranging from concept design, schematic design, detailed design to construction coordination. Kermit is currently leading the design and team management for the on-going design competition. In addition to that Kermit is eager to extend his experience to commercial and mixed-use buildings. Kermit holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, his extensive knowledge in structural design has helped his design from a practical perspective. As with final design, concept was also quite strong and has never altered since it was applied not only masterplanning stage but also at block articulation, planning, and finally onto façade and land/hardscape design. Concept of Taihu stone is quite indigenous to city of Wuxi and in nearby Taihu Lake where flows of water has gradually carved out various size perforations along with flow direction of the water.

Fudan University is a top university with a long history in China and a reputation at home and abroad. The project fully studies the existing campus context and hopes to integrate the new library into the overall campus environment. Concise and modern language used in the library facade, the main building draws on the petal shape of the white magnolia flower of Fudan University. forming a bright virtual contrast, the center part of the use of transparent glass curtain wall, mapping the core space of the library tower, petal-shaped white prefabricated concrete components composed of walls and roof combined with the layout of the functional layout of the plane using gradient texture, effective control of indoor light changes at the same time, the formation of a unified and rhythmic façade effect. Campus landscape has innovatively changed based on respecting the original axis pattern of the campus. through the design of sinking plaza, enriched the three-dimensional level of outdoor space.

“TIDE”

Located in Xiamen East Coast New Town, Xiamen Cultural Complex aims to become the most popular spot for cultural activities among the city and attract tourists from all over the world. DLR Group’s design contains a series of buildings in organic forms like tide with unique spatial experience, based on the concept of tide and water flow, since Xiamen is a coastal city with strong tide movement and the tide of Xiamen also represents its pioneering spirit inherited from Min’nan culture and history. The team designed the Sea Opera House on the north of the site, with a shell-like canopy integrating form and long span structure. The team also created interesting interior and exterior spaces of Xiamen Art Museum with accessible roof like natural landscapes along Xiamen coast, which provided intriguing common area for communications between tourists and people from the city. In addition, the featured Hotel with water views and commercial facilities were designed to utilize sunken plaza, which created more convenient access from B1 to the ground.

Located in Qingdao, PRC, this magnificent site backs the Doshisha boulder mountains while fronting the Yellow Sea to the east. And with COSCO industry deeply rooted in commercial shipping, the concept of “bow wave” has been a strong design element from an early masterplan through architectural concept and current schematic design stage. This refurbishment and expansion project include existing campus building façade and re-planning along with new-build requirements of COSCO mariner’s museum, faculty/student/staff dormitory, canteen, classroom, auditorium, library, mechanical training, and gymnasium. Needless to say, the most difficult aspect of this project would have to be construction completion timeline of September. 2021. This would only allow the project to complete SD, DD, CD, and con-

Immediately adjacent to current construction of Huawei Data Centre in Guian District of Guizhou Province, Huawei has set another design competition for their HuaweiGlobal Command Centre. At early masterplan stage, the design team have researched and analyzed historic and modern Stockholm to understand its urban fabric and how the city has evolved with time. From creating man-made islands with its waterways and bridges, to positioning primary and secondary city nodes with connectivity and proper building typology. Submitted masterplan and concept design proposal of “Stockholm in Time” illustrates not only vernacular style and city planning yet also modern language of what the city has become over centuries.

Mospen Company is one of the prime flush mount lighting and pendant lighting manufacturers located in Taiwan since 1980. Planning to establish new factories in . This project included an office building(7,400m2), a stuff dormitory(5,200m2), 8 factories(total 54,400m2 ), landscape, front gate, and fence. I was responsible for the plan design, facade design, landscape, 3d model, rendering and briefing document with my manager. Also, I have participated in design meeting with the client.

Taiwan Water Corporation Company hold the land for almost 60 years since Japanese colonization. In early times, the water treatment plant was located on the same site before relocated. Therefore, this site has been abandoned for almost 20 years. The design concept is 'natural and artificial balancing '; As a result, we preserved trees as many as possible and renovated historical buildings for new-used. Only build a dormitory, an office building and 20 classrooms, for new. Furthermore, we divided the area to three different uses and created a cross-over footbridge to connect every building on the second floor so to create the feel it was like a trail in the forest.

The transparency of the immense curtain wall creates connects life inside the building with activity outside. The dynamic curved building form and façade present a distinct architectural character for the area. The sunken plaza and green spaces between buildings provide spaces for informal meetings and exchanges of ideas between workers.

Hangzhou is one of most historical city in the South - Eastern China, how-ever, with the rising of Technology companies there has been an eruption of economical growth. Now the city is looking into massive development for its facilities. For this project, the client proposed to the city that they will bring another commercial destination by the bank of The Grand Canal to serve the nearby communities. 钱

Taipei city second funeral parlor has two part. Because government wanted to combine two old parlor into one place. This site has already been used for funeral so that have to build one after another. But the first funeral parlor was received by us. The second project is much easier to get. 3D model, rendering and p.p.

This competition was including two elementary schools. I was responsible for one, plan and elNew Taipei, Taiwan evation. This school already reconstructed haft of class room 3 years ago.
