Concept and Line involved using trend forecasting skills to design a fashion line for two diferent target markets. A concept was developed from the trend research and shown visually through trend and concept boards including color and fabric stories to meet the needs of the deined target market. Silhouettes were developed, and functional, the efects of iber performance, aesthetic and cost of diferent textiles have been speciied.

Concept & Line

Hand bags were designed and constructed for a speciic target market, with a focus on structure and quality from concept to inished product. Computer design skills were applied to illustrate the collection. Mock ups were consturcted and original patterns altered for changes in design details, it, and materials for inal samples with speciications for industrial standards.

Design Specialties

CAD design sotware was used to develop printed and woven textiles for manufacturers. Completed boards, catalogs and swatches were developed in this project. A print and woven collection of design inspiration resources was assembled.

Digital Textiles

Products are developed from concept to marketplace by researching trim and fabric markets, and analyzing trends for development of private label merchandise. Prototypes are developed and manufacturing and budgetary issues are analyzed. CAD sotware utilized.

Internship

My internship with Mata Traders was a monitored program in which I worked part-time in a professional workplace applying my knowledge and skills in a professional environment. During my time working with Mata I evaluated operating procedures and business strategies applied by the chosen company, sold at private wholesale trade shows and public festivals, researched current trends, assisted with design of clothing and jewelry, create spec sheets from physical samples, patterns, or sketches, and altered clothing and jewelry samples.

Developed and implemented my own apparel from concept to patternmaking. Constructed the designed collection using industry standards, determined an accurate cost for the production of the collection and present the collection from muslin mock ups to a complete collection of ive looks.

his course was an introduction to the technique of draping. Students were exposed to the proper method of 3-D patternmaking allowing for accurate expression of the design concept. Proportion, line, grain and it are analyzed in this laboratory class.
