ESPITE OUR INFATUATION with hand-held smart devices, there’s still a place for a big screen television in most Australian homes. Purchasing a new television, however, is not only expensive but there’s a dazzling array of options available. HOW DO YOU CHOOSE? • Remember, picture quality matters the most. • Buy the biggest TV you can afford and fit into the space. • Make sure it connects to your DVD and media player. • If you want to stream Netflix, Stan and other catch-up services, or watch YouTube videos, you’ll need a set that has seamless connections and an internet connection at home that is up to the task. • Check the remote control carefully because you’ll be using it a lot. It should feel comfortable in your hand and be operated without the need to consult a manual.
