The Untagged
Reimagining the Ambedkar Memorial Project
Design Studio Sem VI
Location : Dadar, Mumbai , Maharashtra
Guide : Zainul Bhivji
The project is situated at United Mill No. 6 Compound, Dadar (West), Mumbai, India. The aim was to understand and disseminate the process of institutionalizing marginalized communities through architectural iterations. The project’s focus was on comprehending and analyzing the Dalit community in Mumbai, and then generating designs that address significant requirements and problems.
The master plan conceputalized majorly focuses on providing a common melting space for the Dalit community and other background people in order to develop understanding amongst the public.
Intial idea focussing towards the sea view.
Breaking down the blocks by keeping the axis focusing the sea view.
Pushing away the blocks from each other to break monotony and skewing the whole block along the diagonal axis of site.
Bringing the blocks as one unit consisting of 3 sub parts.
Skewing of two outer blocks to develop open public interactive spaces.
The design focused on developing different units of various programs into one whole unit. Though being separate, each unit is connected through passage ways acting as buffer zones and service areas for all 3 units. The programs in each unit are placed as per the analysis of human footfall.
First unit near the site entry serves for large footfall ,the second unit is dedicated towards awareness centric program while the third unit has community kitchen and activity specific programs. The first floor is dedicated to knowledge-centric programs, considering specific footfall.

02 Cultural Tapestry
Community Resource Centre, Design Studio Sem IV
Location : Chandelao , Jodhpur, Rajasthan
Guide : Probuddha Mukhergee
The project is situated in Chandelao, Rajasthan, just 40 km southwest of Jodhpur city. With the increasing living demands, the population is steadily moving towards urban areas, losing its traditional roots. The primary objective was to thoroughly grasp the needs of the growing population and to design a community resource center for the village.
The design is centered around integrating elements of belongingness, relatability, and local activities while reflecting the social and cultural values of the region. The master plan is conceptualized with walls leading towards independent load-bearing structures, all linked by a continuous rural public realm.
The project focused on designing spaces that can adapt to future user requirements. The idea was to use walls as a guiding element throughout the center. The blank load-bearing walls and screen walls were inspired by the veils worn by village women, particularly those of Chandelao who played a significant role in the village’s development.
The existing structures, such as the Arts and Crafts center and workshop areas, have been preserved to respect local craftsmanship and architecture. The project also includes semi-open spaces and a courtyard system constructed using local sandstone.
The free standing walls guide one through pathways that resemble the street patterns of Chandelao village.

Lines in Nature
Types of Space
Allied Design Studio & Architectural Design Studio Sem1
Location : Mumbai
Guide : Minaz Ansari
The project aims to understand the types of spaces. The main source of inspiration was the lines in nature, which focused mainly on sea life. The allied design and architectural design studios were run concurrently. The Allied Design Studio aimed to create design patterns that were inspired by marine life and incorporate them into lantern designs. The architecture design studio emphasized the use of patterns in the form of openings in a structure and their capacity to alter the typology of space and user response.
Allied Design Studio Sem 1
The aim was to develop an abstract pattern inspired by life forms inside seawater. The patterns used in the lantern design are inspired by coral reefs. The pattern has been used as a design element around the lantern. This pattern-inspired cutout allows light to spread out, forming patterns observed in sea water due to light rays.
Architectural Design Studio Sem 1
The aim of this studio was to understand the different types of spaces. The main intention was to use an abstract pattern inspired by life forms inside seawater and use it in the design of a pause point at Carter Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai.
The pattern employed for the pause point is derived from a coral reef. The structure’s facade have openings created by the abstract pattern. The concept of porosity is used to maintain a semi-open structure for public space.
Documenting Chandelao
Second year study trip
Design Studio Sem IV
Location : Chandelao,Jhodpur,Rajasthan
Guide : Probuddha Mukhergee
Chandelao is a traditional village located 40 km away from the bustling city of Jhodpur, Rajasthan which holds a history of rulers of Rajasthan. The study trip was a documentation of the neighbourhood, including Chandelao Garh.
The documentation was presented through the narrative of a royal tailor, which detailed the village’s formation until the present day. The Chandelao Garh and traditional houses were documented in measured drawings. The documentaion was later on considered for re-presentation in Louis. I Kahn Trophy 2023-2024
The story of Chandelao Garh is deeply rooted in the annals of the Rathore clan’s legacy. Dating back to its establishment in 1744 ,the fort has played a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of the village of Chandelao. Before its existence, the surrounding settlement existed in relative obscurity. However, the fort emerged as a tranformative force, that helped expand the expanse of surrounding village.
