QUALITIES

PIANO possibilities Horizontal lines characterize "PIANO". Level by level, board by board the shelf system gets taller. Far-reaching generosity from left to right, as wide as the furniture, up to 362 cm in one single piece. Spaces are created, 23 or 36 cm tall, for books and vases, for beautiful things and newspapers. Stability and statics come from thin cheeks, which are hardly noticed. Behind these horizontal lines there is perfect technique‌ invisible. At the edge of the boards you can install guiding rails, either in the same colour of the boards or in other colours. Simple sliding doors can be inserted between the boards, as well as spacious sliding doors which reach across several levels. Flaps and generous drawers are designed for those purposes, which are to be stored more privately. Panels for screens, open or behind sliding doors round this programm off.

for fronts, coverboards, wall shelves and glass panels we use low-ironoxyde white glass (known as optiwhite). It is a colour panel lighting neutral glass without the usual greenish tinge of glass. This is important for back interior illumination lacquered glass, sothe colour tone will not behind flap doors change significantly. Nevertheless there can switch function be colour differences between 5 mm thick front glasses and 10 mm thick cover boards. White glass is available in glossy and infra-red amplifier + matt finish. We call our matt finish velour glass infra-red eye Both glass finishes can be back lacquered in all Kettnaker colours. pull-outs

NOTES

PIANO shelf system A PIANO shelf system arises by stacking boards and cheeks. There are two depths and two heights available, which can be combined; e.g. start with 48 cm at the bottom and continue further up with 32 cm depth. Or you combine boards of depth 48 cm with cheeks in 32 cm depth. You can also use 2/3 raster height with 1 full raster height. The maximum width from cheek to cheek ist 150 cm, if rear walls are used. 1,6 cm thick rear walls are placed between boards and cheeks. It is advisable to plan at least one rear wall per level (diagonal reinforcement) if fixation at wall is not possible. Shelf systems of 4 raster height must be fixed on the wall for security reasons. From PIANO boards and cheeks you can create wall-hung elements. They come with grooved rear walls, hinges and wall installation rails. The height can be 2/3 raster (30,2 cm) or 1 raster (43,4 cm), but always 1 level only. The wall-hung element can be dismantled for transport. The longitudinal edges of the boards can be equipped with edge profiles: base profile from black anodized aluminium plus decoration element. The finish of the decoration element can be different than the board's finish. Edge profiles are inevitable when planning sliding doors. Overlapping carcases with drawers of flaps can be pushed into a 32 cm deep shelf system (page 18/19).

PIANO shelves in room divider finish are available without extra charge. Please state. For room divider shelves you need to plan feet (plinth not possible). Please consider the following recommendations regarding stability when planning a room divider: The shelf system should possibly be fixed to a wall on either side. 48 cm deep shelves are more stable than those in 32 cm deep. Shelf height should not exceed 5 raster (205 cm). Drawers should be avoided (tilting). Please distribute weight evenly. Before planning please ask us for advice regarding stability etc.

The panel edges are covered with wood or glass 4 mm thick sliding doors with simple slide system are installed between edge profiles. They are available in back lacquered glass, coloured acrylic, veneered or lacquered. Drawers and flaps come with quick-out mechanism and do not need handles.
