QUALITIES
SOMA Options Volatile Outside A carcase furniture with all options. By separating carcase and outward appearance of the furniture unlimited design possibilities open up. The finishes for cover boards, front and side panels can be chosen independently. There are 7 wood finishes, 17 lacquered colours, matt or high gloss, 17 colours for lacquered glass, matt (velours-like) or glossy. Furthermore, anodized aluminium and acoustic fabric for loudspeaker panels. Magnet fixation allows changes also afterwards: for full design choice. Valuable Inside Drawers slide out silently when tipped. Flaps open and close with rope-mechanism. Sliding doors glide aside. Behind it can be pull-outs for CDs and DVDs. The interior LED illumination switches on automatically when door or flap is opened. Stereo equipment and receivers disappear behind fronts. Hidden ventilation slots provide for airsupply. An infra-red eye relays remote control signals to the appliances. Cables disappear in cable ducts and behind panels and remain accessible any time. Wall panels serve as background or installation surface for flat screens. Furthermore there are LED-bands at the panels’ edges or behind the furniture, which can be switched by remote control.

for fronts, coverboards, wall shelves and glass panels we use low-ironoxyde infra-red amplifier + white glass (known as optiwhite). It is a infra-red eye colour neutral glass without the usual greenish tinge of glass. This is important for back lacquered glass, so the colour tone will not change significantly. wall mounting kit Nevertheless there can be colour differences between 5 mm thick front glasses and 10 mm thick cover boards.
the appliance can transfer infra-red signals of a remote control to a TV-tuner, DVD-player, receiver etc. behind a closed front.

construction The SOMA principle A neutral carcase serves as base (6 widths, 2 heights, 2 depths) The outside look is determined by 6 mm thin boards/panels. 7 wood finishes, 17 lacquer colours, matt and high gloss, 17 colours for glossy and matt glass (back lacquered) are available Furthermore, acoustic fabric for loudspeaker panels and alucobond. Cover boards are held by magnets. Front and side panels can be glued (fix) or can optionally be equipped with magnets. For free-standing units there is a room divider rear wall which will take on front panels The chests can either be on plinth boards or 10 cm tall plinth frames. Feet can be used alternatively (13 cm high). Chests can be stacked, put in a row or wall-hung. When several front panels are on one door/flap the colour of the carcase can be seen through the resulting grooves. front view cover board

Important note: Front and side panels can be glued or equipped with magnets (swap option). For connection with magnets there is a surcharge on the carcase. Front, right and left panel will each be treated separately. Please state! Surcharge for front is in price coloumn PG4 (WOF1). Surcharge per side panel is in price coloumn PG5 (WOSL=left side, WOSR=right side). Back side illumination requires swap option for side panels. Stacked carcases with continuous side panels require swap option for side panels.

SOMA considers convenient housing of media appliances. A depth of 50 cm is ideal for placing receiver, tuner, amplifier etc. behind flaps or doors. Installation of the furniture can be done independently from placing appliances and cables.
the panel edges are covered with wood or glass Thus coordination of furniture fitter and electrician/TV specialist at the same day is no longer necessary. As soon as the circuit points are there, the fitter can install the furniture. Afterwards the appliances can be hooked up in an electric junction box with multiple sockets.

Cables can later on be run through vertical and horizontal cable ducts. Electric junction box and vertical cable ducts come with removable aluminium panels in order to avoid cable disorders. Horizontal cable ducts which can be planned in the top rear of the carcase are covered by the cover board. horizontal cable duct There can be a cutout in the cover board above the cable duct. (cable outlet and ventilation).

Ventilation The appliances develop considerable heat, so ventilation is inevitable. Therefore they should only be operated behind fronts if sufficient ventilation is guaranteed. With SOMA the flaps can thus be equipped with concealed ventilation slots. ONLY standard in connection with horizontal cable duct Rear walls have ventilation slots where the cable ducts are. Furthermore, there are perforated metal sheets.

loud speaker panels / sound openings SOMA allows housing of loud speakers. Front panels for flaps and doors will then be covered with black acoustic fabric. The front panels and the interior front behind will be manufactured in a frame structure. (without surcharge). Side panel can also be covered with fabric for optical purposes. But due to the rope fitting sound openings in the side of the carcase cannot be cut out. Sound openings in the bottom of a carcase (e.g. for subwoofer) can be planned for suspended furniture. Please state position and size (surcharge!)

Remote control signals An infra-red eye, built-in or on a small pedestal, can transfer signals through an amplifier to the appliances inside the cabinet.
