Hello and Welcome to our 2nd Annual Students Think STEAM Expo. Students Think STEAM Expo is designed to motivate and excite students through “touch and feel” engagement about careers and opportunities in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Arts, and Math). As the United States seeks to fuel the future workforce in the crucial areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Arts and Mathematics, it is critical to apply the necessary focus and resources to the population that can produce the greatest results. Through our year round outreach program, our purpose and goal is to stimulate that population as early as possible. National College Resources Foundation’s goal is to help students find their way toward positive post-secondary pursuits, yes life after high school. Daily, we work with students on college and career readiness with applied linked learning concepts, which help prepare students for success in college, career and life. The Student Think STEAM Expo will help students understand and value the importance of science, technology, engineering, agriculture, arts, and math, and get students aware or knowledgeable about STEAM, excited about STEAM. In addition, students will be linked to opportunities and resources that exist for undergraduate and graduate students, such as scholarships/grants, and internships/careers. This EXPO brings Junior Colleges, Universities, Trade Schools, private enterprise with STEAM focus, educational STEAM support funding resources, and STEAM industry companies and organizations together under one roof to help students succeed. LOOK AT THESE FACTS……

STEM jobs will continue to expand as the U.S. economy recovers from the Great Recession. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that at least 8,654,000 U.S. STEM jobs will exist in 2018. And California ranks #1, with a projected need of over 1.1 MILLION STEM jobs by 2018. The issue is whether or not the U.S. educational system can produce sufficient new workers to fill such jobs, and if not, what employers do? Alarming over 600,000 manufacturing jobs are going unfilled in spite of the current economic situation.

This year our EXPO will be held on a Thursday to Ignite, Excite and Build the necessary momentum at the school districts throughout the tri-county area and bus the students to the event. The L.A. Trade Tech campus will be roaring with students of all ages and demonstrations of STEM/STEAAM activities will be flowing. Last years event brought terrific seminars and speakers that engaged the students to learn about hot careers and different career opportunities as well as visit with numerous companies and schools. This is an all encompassing event that brings the students, the parents and academia under one roof. Below I have a sampling of the Seminars and photos of last years event. We awarded over $150,000 in scholarships Had an attendance of over 1,000 students from the tri-county area We look forward to an opportunity to partner with your corporation and help BUILD brighter minds through STEM/STEAAM events.
