Abstract The development of Housing for the Elderly should begin with some understanding of what it means to grow older in our society.Aging is universal and normal , a process that begins at birth. To all , growing older means adaption to changes in the structure and functions of the human body and change in the social environment. Oftentimes , at the stage of retirement , an Elder person is viewed as being obsolete and contributing little of value to a society enamored of youth. However , a large percentage of elderly people can lead active , productive lives and want to continue doing so as long as possible. The opportunities provided for Elder individuals to establish their relevance in a society , which prides them-self on being young and independent.Providing a housing which is dedicated to Elderly gives them opportunities to fulfill their hobbies , thinking with the people who understand them better than others. It is for the people who will stay here by their choice , where they have to buy house and they will get suitable facilities , which helps them to feel as they are asset not liability.

“The Love and Care that the residents invest in this space , which is not , strictly speaking part of their ‘House’ , hinges on an apparently minor detail, namely the window which allows them to keep an eye on the objects that havee been placed Outside , not only as a precaution against theft but also simply because it’s nice to be able to see your own things or to see how your plants are doing”.

FINAL RESOLUTION
Housing for Retired Elderly
The winds of modernization have changed the composition and complexion of joint family into nuclear family into micro family set up in that The victims are the Elder people. According to life possibilities of them; it is dedicated for the people
• Who live alone and consequently with age feel more vulnerable about finding suitable long term housing. • For those with children there is no guarantee of their availability or suitability to assist them.
• Who wants to live life independently to maintain their own personal vitality and don’t want to reduce the social inclusion.
• Who are fortunate enough already to own their property.
• Who wish to move to more suitable accommodation.
For understanding the physical and psychological aspects, after having some interviews and case studies some points:
• Similar thinking, experience and age can share things better.
• Which things they could not do in their earlier life, get chance to do. • Facilities and partial support which fills their life with happiness and inspired them to do wide range of dynamic Activities. • Independent space to chase the hobby. • Like to wave hand and node head. • Need someone to talk with. “As Human tendency to make friends with the people of nearly age.”
Looking towards the planning of spaces for Retired people: Site surroundings which involves them directly or indirectly like public gathering space, school, religious space. • Introvert and Extrovert space for both side participation. • Independent space with the Socially Inclusive space. • Visual and Verbal connection with the neighborhood. • Activities to occupy them properly. • Gathering spaces at intervals. • Space to inspired community for different gatherings with the various activities. • Space to maintain their hobby. • Community’s character should be inviting rather than confined within wall. Firstly, the site planning was done according to the site. All the units were placed according to the site shape and connected with the central area.
72
Housing for Retired Elderly
Secondly, to improve the social inclusion and coziness with the neighborhood, this is used to seen in the village and pole. Where there are different spaces for gatherings, visual and verbal connection with the neighborhood. To combine with, Elder people are physically and psychologically categorized as: •
Independent
•
Dependent
•
Partial Dependent.
To cater this into the site planning •
2 units make a cluster
•
6 to 7 units make a cluster
•
3 units make a cluster
To taking care of their social inclusion, gathering spaces and coziness; elements like •
Under tree seating
•
Bankda seatings at intervals
•
Chabutro
To improve the psychological and physical wellbeing through a wide range of dynamic activities like •

For suitable accommodation: •
