THE MORNING CALM
The Korean War Monument to the Philippine Armed Forces in Goyang was erected by the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of National Defense Oct. 2, 1974. The Gloster Valley Battle Monument in Jeokseong honors the United Kingdom’s 1st Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment, and C Troop, 170th Light (Mortar) Battery Artillery, who were surrounded and outnumbered at Solma-ri April 22-25, 1951.
