Administrator’s Pledge to Support REAL Teachers I understand that quality standards-based physical education is an important part of the solution to the nation’s obesity problem. For the sake of all children’s health and well-being I pledge to support REAL teachers by:
Becoming educated about state and national standards for quality physical education. Doing all I can to demand that the physical educators on my staff are REAL teachers, teaching quality physical education. Putting REAL teachers in leadership positions and supporting them in every possible way. Never forgetting that the number one priority is to teach all the students, and while coaching after school sports is very important it should not lead to sacrifices in the physical education program. Not allowing substitutions for physical education, as this would indicate my lack of understanding of the crucial role REAL teachers can play in curbing the rise in childhood obesity.
