Chamber Launches Search for New Executive Director by Lisa Dunnebacke

This month, the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce will begin a comprehensive search for a full-time Executive Director for the Houghton-Keweenaw County region. Since 2011, the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce has been actively carrying out a threepart strategic plan. The first phase of that plan, launched in 2012, was to revise the strategic mission of Chamber to better serve its membership as well as to better position itself to facilitate collaboration among the other local and regional economic development and business support organizations. Based upon feedback from our membership, the Chamber refocused its efforts to support, attract, and develop business in the Keweenaw. The second phase, launched in 2013, was twofold, to simplify the membership structure, rates, and benefits and to improve our current programs and networking events. The third phase will be to select a dynamic, results driven Executive Director to execute the Chamber’s mission and strategic plan. Continued on page 13
