Shifen Waterfall 十分瀑布 / Shifen Waterfall ( 十分 瀑布 ) is Taiwan's largest cascade falls, nicknamed the Niagara Falls of Taiwan, splashing white silky patterns as it descends.

Lingjiao Station 嶺腳車 站/ Lingjiao Station ( 嶺 腳車站 ) used to be a bustling hub for three mining sites in the old days. Crisscrossing railways, streets and the creeks make a picturesque landscape. Sanzhong Temple 三忠廟/ The Shuangxi Old Street centered on Sanzhong Temple. Large stones are used for the foundation of main buildings on the street. Despite the scarcity of grand, imposing buildings, the ancient vibe of the street makes visitors feel as if they entered a time warp to the 1940s or 50s.

貓咪資訊站 Information Center for Kitten Sanitation To provide convenient access to information of cats and other animals, New Taipei City government spent four months in renovation and finally transformed the old Taiwan Rail dormitory into Feline Information Center. Cat Sky, an illustrator, was invited to design cat murals, piano stairs, and a series of cat-themed art installation.
Yin Yang Sea,Remains of the Thirteen Levels 陰 陽海、十三層遺址/ A smelter built up 13 levels to fit the mountainous terrain, complete with a 2-km flue pipe that surrounds the mountain. Then there is Yin Yang Sea, a section of the coast known for its half gold, half dark blue color, is a clash of Jinguashi Creeks ( 金瓜石 ) and the river mouth.
Golden Waterfall 黃金瀑 布/ The water is gold because of gold ore deposits and fungi growth. The spectacular waterfall, which has several layers formed by an undulating terrain, is one of the most popular scenes for wedding photos. Due to accumulation of metals, the waterfall now shines with golden huesler, fascinating under the sunlight.

Gold Museum 黃金博物館 / The museum tells the story of Jinguashi's rise and fall as a mining town. It presents a rich tapestry of local culture and that perfectly coexist with the beautiful surroundings.

Jiufen Old Streets 九份 老街/ Most of the coffee shops and tea houses in Jiufen cluster along the 300 meters of cobblestone steps of Shuqi Rd ( 豎崎路 )., between Jiufen Elementary School ( 九份國小 ) and Shengping Theater ( 昇平 戲院 ). Previously built to deliver goods, this route has revived thanks to the film “A City of Sadness ( 悲情城市 )”.

Yingge Old Street 鶯歌 陶瓷老街/ With several historical locations, Yingge Old Street, covers ancient residences of Wang Yang ( 汪洋居 ) and Cheng Fa ( 成發居 ). The architecture of the residence is very similar to ceramics museum. Each store on the street shares the architectural themes of red bricks and pillars, plus there are ceramic chairs all around, highlighting local culture.

San-Ying Spetial Art District 三鶯之心空間藝 術特區/ The 32-hectare park includes Sanying arts space, a forest path, many green public works. There are also huge ceramics installations, measured several meters in height. These make excellent photo subjects for travelers and create an interesting atmosphere for a picnic or stroll.

Indigo Workshop 三峽藍 染展示中心/ There are various indigo dyed products for sale by the counter of Indigo Workshop. Continue walking to the back of the workshop and you can reach the classroom. After finishing the dyeing process, you can take the cloth home and enjoy it!

Sanxia Qingshui Zushi Temple 三峽清水祖師廟 / The temple has been the local religious center since the mid Qing dynasty. It has been rebuilt several times because of destructions by earthquakes and wars. Dubbed as an oriental art palace, this temple is a dreamcome-true of an artist who yearns to combine artistic skills in Europe with his work.

2 月烏來櫻花季 Wulai Cherry Blossom Festival in February Bitan Scenic Area 碧潭風 1 景區/ One of the eight best attractions in Taiwan. Bitan is very close to MRT Xindian station ( 捷運新店站 ), making it a popular spot for weekend getaways. Terraces, ponds, and sand bars stand on both banks, and the area is great for canoeing, fishing, barbecuing, rowing, etc. The Bitan suspension bridge has reopened to public since 2000.

Wulai Old Street 烏來老 2 街/ Regardless of season and weather, tourists flock to Wulai for its hot-springs, letting it live up to its reputation as the hot spring capital of Taiwan. After taking a dip in the hot spring, most tourists head to Wulai Old Street ( 烏來老街 ), tasting traditional Atayal ( 泰 雅 ) snacks and appreciating aboriginal handicrafts.
Wulai Hot Spring 烏來溫 3 泉/ Hot spring play an important role for the Atayal ( 泰 雅 ) people, and the word “Wulai” refers to hot spring. Neidong Forest Recreation 4 Area 內洞森林遊樂區/ The Neidong Forest Recreation Area is a 1,000-hectare park situated at Hsinhsien village in Wulai District. With Neidong Waterfall ( 內洞瀑布 ), it is a national ecological park, as locals affectionately refer to as Doll Valley(娃娃谷), rich with a variety of plant and animal life. Wulai Push-car Ride 烏 5 來觀光台車/ Wulai's mountainous topography offers stunning scenic features, including the Wulai and Wuchong River waterfalls ( 五重 溪瀑布 ). Tourist attractions, such as the Wulai Suspension Bridge ( 烏來吊橋 ). Push-car Ride and cable car are built by settlers. When you come to Wulai, look around and you will be amazed by what you see.
Cher r y blossoms in Wulai dress up the montains from January to February. With forest and waterfall in the background, the crimson sea of flowers along the roads brilliantly stands out. Besides tourists, the cherry blossoms also attract birds, a wonderful oppor tunity for birdwatchers. Certain restrictions may apply to avoid traffic jam and cars may not be allowed to enter during flower season.

Bali Old Street 八里老街 1 / The Bali Old Street is close to Tamsui River and has been renovated in recent years. There is a nice bicycle trail along the embankment. Tamsui Old Street 淡水老 3 街/ Tamsui old street is a place where visitors can enjoy old streets, cool breeze, flower and trees planted by residents and the sense of relaxation. Fort San Domingo 紅毛城 4 / It is one of the rarest historical sites in Taiwan that has a great mix of foreign culture influences. Fisherman's Wharf 漁人碼 5 頭/ Never is this feeling more apparent than on a stroll across the bridge of Fisherman Wharf at sunset. With the Blue Waterway, visitors can take a boat to travel around the river or to the ocean. Also, the Blue Waterway make it easier for visitors to travel between the opposite bank of the Tamsui River.
淡水金色水岸自行車道 Tamsui Gold Coast Bikeway As the light of the setting sun gives the waters of Tamsui River a golden hue, the bikeway was named the "Golden Shore Bike way". Cyclists can explore Tamsui's culture and natural scenery. Non-folding bikes are allowed to enter and leave through Guandu ( 關渡 ), Zhuwei ( 竹圍 ) and Hongshulin MRT stations ( 捷運紅樹林站 ). Artistic craftsmanship of nature

3 These four districts encompass some of the world’s most spectacular rock formations, including the Laomei Green Reef ( 老梅石 槽 ) sculpted by ancient volcanic leva. And Yehliu( 野柳 )’s trademark Queen’s Head, one of Taiwan’s top geological wonders, is formed by 4,000 years of coastal erosion. Sandy beach Qianshui Bay(淺水灣)and a museum of sculptures by artist Ju Ming(朱銘)are some other near by attractions.
Laomei Green Reef 老梅 石槽/ Over the centuries, these volcanic reefs have been subjected to pounding waves, eventually forming a 2-km stretch of vertical furrows, 50cm deep in average. In winter, when northeast seasonal winds are strong, moisture fosters large algae growths on the reef. By April, the reefs appear as if covered in a light green carpet.

Juming Museum 朱銘 美術館/ Originally the warehouse of artist Ju Ming for large installations, the green lawns make the carvings stand out with new meanings. In 1999, Ju decided to establish the Juming Museum.

9 月北海岸國際風箏節 New Taipei City North Coast International Kite Festival In addition to the unique natural waveeroded and wind-sharpened landscapes, the monsoon that blows from the northeast in winter is also exceptional in Shimen, making it a perfect kiting site. Every September, expert kite fliers from all over the world gather here to show off their kite flying skills.
Jinshan Old Street 金 山老街/ The old name "Jinbaoli ( 金包里 )" is from the Katagelan Tribe.Jinshan's city center is Jinshan Old Street, and it is the only old street on the north coast preserved from the Qing Dynasty. The duck meat stand at the gate of the Guangan Temple ( 廣安宮 ) is very famous.

Yehliu Geopark 野柳地 質公園/ Yehliu Geopark is famous for bizarre rocks, naturally formed by wave and wind erosion. The Queen's Head (女王頭)is the most wellknown and the representative of Yehliu.

金山萬里溫泉 Jinshan-Wanli Hot Springs Jingshan- Wanli Hot springs is originally from the geothermal belt of Datun Mountain ( 大 屯 山 ) pass through Matsao, Jinshan and Wanli before rushing out to the sea. On this journey, these seabed hot springs mix with sandstone, giving them rare sulfur and sodium properties. On a trip to Jinshan and Wanli, some people choose a hotel with private hot springs while others choose to bathe in public springs.

Old Caoling Circular Bike Path 舊草嶺環狀自行車 道/ The Old Caoling Tunnel ( 舊草嶺隧道 ) was once the railway between Fulong ( 福 隆 ) and Shicheng ( 石城 ). After closed for more than 20 years, it has been refurbished and transformed into a bike path. The 2km-long old tunnel is now a railway museum adapted for bikers.

Caoling Historic Trail – silver grass season 草嶺古 道-芒花季/ Caoling Historic Trail is the cultural path most representative of the Northeast Coast. Banqiao District is as dazzling as the capital Taipei City, and they are connected by the same metro transportation system. Hop onto the city metro and explore the busy shopping district, which holds "Christmas land in New Taipei City" every year. The district is also home to the Lin Family Mansion and Garden ( 林本源園邸 ), which is not only one of the finest historic residences in Taiwan, but also one of the few remaining examples of classic Qing Dynasty architecture.
Fuzhong Shopping Area 府 1 中商圈/ Built in 1952, the old station was the second largest railway station in Taiwan with over 60,000 passengers every day. Now it is a busy shopping area with different stores, gourmet food, and a night market. It has become the Ximending ( 西門町 ) of New Taipei City. Address: Section1, Zhongshan Road, Banqiao District, New Taipei City Getting there: Take the MRT Bannan Line and get off at Fuzhong Station. This area is outside exit 1 and 2 of the station.

New Banqiao Special 2 District 新板特區/ New Taipei City Government, department stores, and major buildings around Banqiao station are parts of the New Banqiao Special District, a thriving political, economic and traffic hub. The station is an architectural landmark featuring indoor shopping arcades. It was designed in a twin-tower format, with numerous artistic touches.
435 Art Venue 435 藝文特 3 區/ At the end of Lane 435 on Banqiao’s Zhongzheng Road ( 中正路 ) , there is a building named after its address. Originally used as a training ground for the Army’s Reserve Command, renovations by Banqiao District Office turned it into a European-style culture zone. The Lin Family Mansion 4 and Garden 林本源園 邸/ Traditional landscaped architectures in the Lin Family Garden is said to be the best in Taiwan. Nanya Night Market 湳 5 雅觀光夜市/ The largest night market in Banqiao, this place is very close to the old station shopping area and dubbed as Banqiao Tourist Night Market, always crowded with people looking for inexpensive gourmet. Address: Section 1, Nanya S Road, Banqiao District, New Taipei City Hours: 17:00-24:00 Getting there: Take the Bannan Line and get off at Fuzhong Station. Get out of the station at Exit 1. Follow Xianminda Road and turn right on Nanya E Road.
