Five-time Grammy award-winning and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Buddy Guy settles in for a monthlong stand at his South Loop club Buddy Guy’s Legends every January to give music lovers something to keep things cooking. This will be the final chance for fans to catch the legend at the club’s original incarnation, which turned 20 years old in June of this year. The new location, located up the block at 700 S. Wabash, is set to open in 2010. Mr. Guy will continue to play his residency at the new location in January 2011. “I’m working had to keep the blues in Chicago, in the South Loop,” Guy explains. “I’m doing everything I can to keep the blues alive.” Buddy Guy will be hitting the Legends stage 16 times this month. The chance to hear this bona fide living legend digging into authentic Chicago blues in an intimate 400-person venue is enough to get even the most winter-weary listener energized, which is why Guy’s annual residency has become a popular and beloved music tradition.
