Extended by popular demand, the smash-hit musical, Million Dollar Quartet, continues its run in Chicago, blazing past its one-year mark. As the original quartet heads to Broadway, producers confidently introduce a new Chicago cast to play simultaneous shows both here and in New York. Inspired by the famed, 1956 recording session that brought together legendary rock ‘n’ roll icons Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley, Million Dollar Quartet captures a singular moment when four of the music industry’s most extraordinary talents, all in their creative prime, came together for one of the most memorable nights in music history. The show features a treasure trove of the greatest rock ’n’ roll, gospel, R&B and country hits from these music legends, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Whole Lotta’ Shakin’ Goin’ On,” and recently added “Folsom Prison Blues,” “I Walk the Line,” and “Hound Dog.” When the show reached its one-year milestone back in October, co-producers Gigi Pritzker and John Cossette said, “From the very first preview performance, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, exceeding our expectations and confirming our hopes.” With tickets now on sale through September 5, 2010, this rock ‘n’ roll hit musical shows no signs of slowing down.
