THE PRINCESSES STRIKE BACK!
Most of us know the classic fairy tales by heart, which probably makes us believe that we also know the famous princesses who populate them. Boy, would we be wrong! Fed up with the airbrushed versions of themselves portrayed in their own stories, Snow White and her band of disillusioned damsels set out to set the records straight in the hilariously subversive, not-for-the-kiddies musical parody Disenchanted. It’s like seeing the fairy tales you thought you knew and loved through a decidedly fractured lens, and with a lot more laughs than you probably remember from the originals. So leave the little ones at home (Disenchanted is recommended for ages 14 and up) and get the real stories straight from the princesses this week at the Broadway Playhouse, 175 E. Chestnut.
