GATEWAY TO SUMMER Who are you going to believe – a meteorologist or your senses? To wit, the calendar may say summer doesn’t officially get underway until the solstice on June 20, but once you experience Memorial Day weekend in Chicago, you’ll know that summer starts NOW.

From the boat traffic on the Chicago River to families enjoying Maggie Daley Park (pictured on front cover) to Saturday night fireworks at Navy Pier, the crowds will be out in force to greet the busiest season of the year.
