This year’s theme, Building Bridges to Conquer Cancer, aims to build bridges across all segments of the oncology community by providing attendees with the knowledge to achieve the highest standard of patient care. The Meeting will bring together over 25,000 oncology professionals from a broad range of specialties to discuss, connect, and learn from one another. The 2013 Annual Meeting is an opportunity for our diverse membership and Meeting attendees to come together to identify gaps and areas in need of improvement and then, after learning from one another, implement strategies of change throughout the oncology community. ON THE COVER RISING ABOVE IT ALL Standing at 1,450 feet, the Willis Tower (233 S. Wacker, 312.875.94447) is currently the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, but it won’t be for much longer. Make certain to take in the views from The Ledge on the 103rd floor. The four glass boxes extend 4.3 feet outside of the tower over Wacker Drive and guests can view four states on a clear day. Originally dubbed the “Sears Tower,” it was constructed in the 1970s for the Sears Roebuck Company since the global retailer was headquartered there. The building was renamed in 2009 but most Chicago residents still refer to the tower by its former name. Guests can view Reaching for the Sky, a nine-minute video about Chicago’s rise in the architectural world, in the Skydeck Theater. Skydeck Chicago is open everyday from 9am–10pm.
