ON THE COVER GOLD COAST ART FAIR On beautiful summer days, the Chicago skyline looks a work of art in and of itself. What better setting, then, for a world-class event like this weekend’s 57th annual Gold Coast Art Fair in Grant Park? Kids can even get in on the creativity by hopping on the Spin Art machine to make their own masterpiece of spirals and splashes of paint. This gold standard of art festivals takes place on June 21 and 22 from 10am to 6pm in Grant Park, Monroe and Lake Shore Drive. A $5 donation is suggested. Call 847.926.4300 for more information.

What do you have a taste for?

Photos clockwise from top left: Ed Debevic’s, Terrace on Clark, and Kan Zaman.

If the weather’s nice, grab a seat on the patio at TERRACE ON CLARK (77 W. Wacker; 312.374.3111), where you can sip a craft beer or signature cocktail while enjoying some American comfort food. Of course you can also dine in comfort inside while watching sports on one of the spot’s 10 60-inch TVs. Bring the kids for an entertaining meal at ED DEBEVIC’S (640 N. Wells; 312.664.1707), a 1950s-style diner where the employees serve burgers and milkshakes with a heaping side of snark. They’re also known for taking breaks to dance on the counters. Vegetarians will feel right at home at KAN ZAMAN (617 N. Wells; 312.751.9600), which serves Lebanese fare such as falafel and fattoush salad along with fresh-squeezed juices. There are also plenty of meaty options on the menu.
